BillyVance 35 #1 May 4, 2005 An acquaintance, actually more of a friend of my wife's back when my wife taught job-ready skills at the school for the deaf and was her student, OD'ed on weed, cocaine, xanax and other anti-depressants. I have no idea if it was an attempted suicide or an accidental OD, but she is in a deep coma, on life support... mom and grandmother came in from out of town and are understandably upset... it is not looking good. Doctors are afraid there is already major brain damage. She was already anorexic, and previously diagnosed with depression. This really sucks... Not that it would make any difference in her life, but I'd like to find the fucker who supplied the weed and cocaine...and beat the shit out of him! tr027 0 #3 May 4, 2005 Just my humble opinion, I would tend to think the real causes were the preexisting conditions, not the drugs themselves(this is in no way advocating the use of drugs-drugs are bad). The drugs didnt cause the OD, the preexisting conditions did. The drugs were merely one of very many available avenues (unless you live in a padded room)."The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. cocheese 0 #4 May 4, 2005 Don't blame the weed. And don't blame any providers. She probably didn't have a gun to her head. Sorry bro. Don't mess with blow.Hope she wakes up soon.
hexadecimal 0 #5 May 4, 2005 The weed would have nothing to do with the coma... but it sucks and I'm sorry to hear it either way. To blame would be the cocaine and anti depressants.
BillyVance 35 #6 May 4, 2005 yeah, that's true... she's had a tough life, and had more than the usual pre-conditions to consider taking her life. But I don't even know if this was an attempted suicide. Only God knows. Last I heard she was running a 102 fever and her brain is severely inflamed. Details are not clear though, but there is no response to any stimuli. I'll find out what the status is later this afternoon when I go by the hospital, but only the pastor and mother/grandmother are allowed in the room..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
peacefuljeffrey 0 #7 May 4, 2005 Once in a while, when I'm down about love and lack of it (seems to be often, lately), I get a refresher about why my life ain't really so bad... Sorry to hear about your friend, her circumstances, her choice... I hope she gets better and has a new appreciation for living when she does. And if she can't, I hope she's at peace. BillyVance 35 #8 May 5, 2005 Well, after seeing her in ICU and talking with one of her advocates (kind of like a big sister from church), I found out it was not a suicide attempt. It was an accidental overdose. She did have prescriptions for Xanax and the other anti-depressants. The cocaine probably hit her way harder than it normally would because of the other drugs being in her body, as well as the fact that she only weighs 90 pounds on a 5'-2" frame. What really pissed me off was that her asshole boyfriend didn't call 911 until 12 fucking hours after she'd passed out! If this were the old days, I'd have organized a lynching mob and hung the SOB's ass! The good news is that she can breathe on her own, but it's somewhat erratic, and she hasn't woken up yet from the coma, but I watched her move her jaw and lift an arm...
