SkyDekker 1,465 #30 August 19, 2004 There are a multitude of reasons why I have quit skydiving. All these special groups that people need to belong to to feel cool is one of them. The large amount of alcoholics and junkies is another one. I think you run this site brilliantly, all your actions always seem to be very well thouht out. Guess this might be the exception to the rule. To me, this just furthers the seperation between the in crowd and the rest. A trend that has been growing stronger and stronger over time. A trend that certainly can become strong enough to really negatively affect the future of this forum. Your certainly brilliant enough to change the course, but it does seem to be heading down a very slippery slope. I got on the list as a way to communicate with people who I'm friends with on the forums. I personally have done very few "drunk" calls but a ton of sober (*gasp*) calls.Life is short! sangiro 26 #32 August 19, 2004 Justin, I believe people have the right to associate with whomever they want and can stay away from whomever they like. It bugs me that we seem turn every piece of fun into a huge political or social issue. It's not. It's just a bunch of folks having fun and who have been doing it for a long time before I gave them a "house" for their list. Life just isn't always that serious mate. If you and I decide to have a BBQ at my place (which I hope we will) and by our own choosing decide not to invite your non-skydiving neighbors over, well... I'm not going to loose sleep about that either. Again, this is not a political statement or big issue. It may be time to lighten up a bit. If I ever quit skydiving it will be because there are too many people who take themselves too seriously and have forgotten that this was about fun in the first place. PS - can you please publish all the phone numbers on your mobile here? I'd hate for you to have an "exclusive list" of people that only you can talk to... You and I can agree to disagree.
