BillyVance 35 #1 May 6, 2005 Again, I didn't check for the veracity of this story, but I liked the ending. This will warm your heart. Just when you have lost faith in human kindness. Someone who teaches at a Middle School in Safety Harbor, Florida forwarded the following letter. The letter was sent to the principal's office after the school had sponsored a luncheon for the elderly. An old lady received a new radio at the luncheon as a door prize and was writing to say thank you. This story is a credit to all human kind. Forward this to anyone you might think needs a lift today. Dear Safety Harbor Middle School, God bless you for the beautiful radio I won at your recent senior citizens luncheon. I am 84 years old and live at the Safety Harbor Assisted Home for the Aged. All of my family has passed away. I am all alone now and it's nice to know that someone is thinking of me. God bless you for your kindness to an old forgotten lady. My roommate is 95 and always had her own radio, but before I received one, she would never let me listen to hers, even when she was napping. The other day her radio fell off the night stand and broke into a lot of pieces. It was awful and she was in tears. She asked if she could listen to mine, and I said kiss my butt. Thank you for that opportunity. wartload 0 #2 May 6, 2005 I love that story! One of my profs shared almost the exact same letter with a class that I was in about 1966. It was supposedly written to a radio station who'd given it to the lady as a contest prize, and what she told her roomate was a little more earthy ... but same story. (The good stuff holds up over time!)

I hear ya... hoo rah! A friend and fellow Vet once told me if he ever had a chance to meet Jane, this is pretty much what he would tell her - "It was your right to protest the U.S. government's handling of the war. I went to Vietnam to fight for that right. It was NOT your right to sit in that anti aircraft battery and hang out with the very people that were trying to kill my fellow soldiers. I don't think I've ever heard a sincere apology out of you, so I have chosen not to forgive you. If forgiveness is a requirement to get in Heaven, then I guess I'll see you in HELL!""Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
