Katzeye 0 #3 May 6, 2005 Ahh, Monterey is my hometown! I hope you like the sleepy, small town atmosphere puncuated by some of the most eye-catching coastline the US has to offer. Byron is kinda close, Hollister is about an hour and there is a good group of belly and freefliers at the Monterey DZ. The Monterey DZ is actually in Seaside at the old Fort Ord airstrip. Landing area is a fishbowl, but not too advanced. You kinda setup over the go-cart track next door. Threw my mom out of a plane there for Mother's Day 3 years ago... man that was fun!
