Zoter 0 #26 May 5, 2005 Quoteits not so much the back up..I do. but you cant back up the project. I was in the middle of editing his wedding video for the 3rd time when i lost this. I dunno what editing software you are using, but most of them offer 'project files' that you can save , back up that saves all of your hard worked edits... I know this is shutting the gate after the horse is well and truly bolted.......but with the costs of DVD's these days...every movie I make and edit I use a DVD (data) to save the project file and another to save the 'final' movie....if its too big for DVD I just write a little note with the project file whichDV tapes the clips are on.... Its a bit of hastle a bit of organisation but a whole lotta reassurance.... (BTW my HD has dumped my stuff including edits twice.....I feel your pain bro)
jtval 0 #27 May 5, 2005 I was using adobe premeire. I didn't knwo you could save projects. well I knew I could SAVE them in the program itself, but I didnt know I could back it up then reload it if neccessary. is that true with adobe? I would think that as soon as the video files were gone/crash/corrupt it would no longer recongize the file Leroy --as far as editing in small segments , thats what I do. I try to keep them in approx 5 minute segments then set it up that I can put them together on dvd with out much noticeMy photos My Videos
