Random, but cool

Recommended Posts

So, I was flipping through some dog pictures on dogbreedinfo.com when I came across this picture. Before I even noticed the dog, I noticed the rock she's sitting on - hey, I know that rock! I know that scenery!

Sure enough, Bald Rock on Mt. Cheaha Alabama, where I learned to rapell and where my friends and I have had some of the best times ever.

Then I looked closer, and saw the pup wearing an Auburn leash. AWwwwww!! B|B|

Just a random cool moment in an otherwise mundane Wednesday.

How 'bout you? Got anything/

Those are some big-ass sunglasses! Kinda like the kind old folks wear over their Rx glasses. Did someone's nice grandma send them to you, sexy man?

:D;)

Those are my Smith & Wesson shooting glasses. I wear them at work to keep stuff like flying debri from car bombs out of my eyes. ;) You also tend to get glass fragments on the inside if someone shoots the bullet reistant glass enough times. :o

Ahh sooo... taking my oh so valuable advice on avoiding flying bits of metal - good man!! :D

So, what's the latitude compared to Houston? I have no clue. And I didn't know you have curly hair! That's so cute!

I was just talking to my Mom last night and she said Baghdad is about the same Lat as Virginia. The weather is just really differen't because of the HUGE desert to the West. At least I will be on leave during August and therefor the HOTTEST part of the year. Won't mind missing that at all. B|

Where are you taking your leave? Houston in August is an absolute bitch, probably worse than Baghdad, climatically speaking - high heat, higher humidity and the occasional torrential downpour. You step outside in the morning and it feels like a steaming towel was just wrapped around you.

Woo hoo!

You're very welcome! It was just one of those out-of-the-blue warm fuzzies - cool dog, from Auburn, on CHEAHA!! It's one of the most special places on earth to me. :)

i KNEW i recognized that veiw (i opened the picture before reading and had the same thought as you) Cheaha used to be one of our regular stops on the way up the Blue Ridge Parkway... its a classic rappel and a great place just to hang out... we used to practice building platforms and having lunch looking south... its one of the places where you can just look south and see "the water used to come up to here"

Yay! I knew someone here had to have been there before too! B|

You know the rappel spot to the left of that view? The one with the overhang? My buddy Jim tied my belay to a tree while I was inverted 75 ft. off the rocky ground below. It was such fun! B|[:/] (I miss it!)
