Buried 0 #2 May 11, 2005 I <3 dual monitors. been using them for the last 4-5 yrs and I find it soo hard to use just one. its helps a bunch when you need to look at something and type or test & code. try suggesting that it increases productivity! ryoder 1,590 #3 May 11, 2005 When I was at Motorola, we once hired a contractor who, on his first day, sat down in front of his Solaris/SPARC workstation, and demanded: "I want two more video cards,, and two more monitors!" So that was how he worked, one monitor in front, and one at each side. It looked like he was running a flight simulator. I run a 24" Sony with 16:10 ratio at 1920x1200. It's not as good as two 20", but it's a damn site better than one 20". I have read of studies showing evidence that multiple monitors improve productivity."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Kid_Icarus 0 #5 May 11, 2005 Two is always better than one... I'm rockin 2 at work. One for dz.com and one for work.... Work place tip -o- the day: I set my screen saver as a screen shot of my work, sooo, if I happen to doze off and my computer goes to sleep, it looks like I'm working. As for the hand, keep it on the mouse, but curl your fingers under your palm, when you fall asleep, you tend to click the button. At least I do. And Make sure your head is in a neutral position, so it doesn't flop. NOW, BACK TO WORK!!! ________________________________________ "What What..... Avion 0 #7 May 11, 2005 Yourrr... Right! Multiple monitors rock. I have three 19' monitors and two dual head video cards I could actually run five monitors at once I'm only runing 2 of the 19s at the moment. When I get a bigger computer desk I might get all three running

Travman 6 #9 May 11, 2005 I've been using two for a while, i love it. Some games have a few problems with it, mainly RTS.
billvon 3,120 #10 May 11, 2005 One of my computers has a triple monitor setup. Two are 1280x1024 19" monitors, and one is a 1920x1080 46" monitor. (Dual monitor card and motherboard VGA adapter.) Makes a good entertainment system.
MWGemini 0 #11 May 11, 2005 Nice setup! I can run dual monitors on mine, but since I only have one monitor, the only way I can do it is if I run my TV as the second, and the image quality just isn't worth it. I've run actual dual monitors in the past and loved it, however. Definitely increases productivity when doing 3d modelling or level design, and even when writing code. Has anyone ever used the panoramic screens, like these: http://www.panoramtech.com/products/desktop.html http://www.9xmedia.com/pages-Build_a_system/X-Top_Design_a_system-Configurations.html http://www.viewsonic.com/multipanelpromo/ http://www.go-l.com If only I could afford a triple screen panoramic setup like those....
