livendive 8 #1 May 12, 2005 So I hear all about these community notification things, but haven't ever actually gotten one. Today that changed; I guess I owe beer. I have a nice little letter in hand from the city that says a level 3 sex offender is moving onto my street, my block, in less then two weeks. They've included his picture and the fact that he's been convicted of molesting a 5 year old girl, a 6 year old girl, and "communicating with a minor for immoral purposes"... a 16 year old. He declined sex offender treatment and is considered a high risk to reoffend. Anyone know what "Community Custody" is? Apparently he'll be on it for the next 36-48 months, which I suspect means that he'll just be on parole. The only good news in the letter is that he's 5'9" and 145 lbs. At that size, I imagine my daughter could take him almost as easily as I could. Unfortunately another dz.commer lives two blocks from me and she has a 10 year old daughter who's found plenty of girlfriends in the neighborhood to play with. Skolls081102 0 #2 May 12, 2005 Sorry to hear it- it sucks when they move that close. I investigated, and found out that there are 8 (if memory servs me right) sex offenders in my town. It sucks. Just keep an eye on him, and a hand on your gun The sole intention, is learning to fly.Condition grounded, but determined to try. Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies.Tongue tied and twisted, just an Earth bound misfit. antifnsocial 0 #3 May 12, 2005 Just explain it to your daughter and teach her how to be safe from people like that. Dave, I don't understand what you mean by the last sentence. Sorry, it was confusing, what did you mean by that? Please feel free to reply to my posts and pm's, but only if you're smart enough to understand what they really mean. Sorry, it was confusing, what did you mean by that? My daughter's mostly grown...she'll be 17 in a couple months, and she's pretty smart and reasonably tough. I can't say the same for my friend's 10 year old or all her friends who live very close. That's what I was trying to say. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!"
