Relationships have different levels, boundaries. To cross a boundary, like to get from "acquaintance" to "friend", you need to be a friend to that person.

There are many reasons for superficial relationships, physical attractiveness is one. Usually, they stay at that level and people generally know what is going on.

I try to accept most people for the way they are, but they determine the level of the relationship with their character.

It is ok to have superficial acquaintances to do many things. I shoot pool, skydive, go to the gym, and work with nice people, but I have a boundary there in many cases.

Well, I was thinking of some people who have shown me that although they are popular here, they are not nice people. Not at all. But then the audicity to tell someone who responds irritably to being treated like shit, that they have an "ugly" side, man, that's really out there. It's like an armed robber condescending to a shoplifter, telling him that he's a cancer on society.

You hit it right on the head; there is a major difference between someone having "friends" because she is attractive and having real friends because she is a good person. And a person who is sweet to her friends but is a "Heather" to anyone else is not a good person.
