NWFlyer 2 #26 May 12, 2005 QuoteI pack for myself. Rather pay to jump then have a packer. I am slow now, but when I start going to boogies, I don't want to have to rely on packers I don't know and still have to wait in line to get my rig. So far my pack jobs on my sabre have given me smooth openings. The only way to get faster at packing is to practice. And did I mention that I am cheap. Ditto what he said. I trust the packers at my home DZ and will occasionally indulge and pay for a pack job (especially if I'm trying to make the sunset load or something) but am getting faster and better myself by doing most of my own pack jobs. I'm still slow, but it's improving."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Boogies are definitely not the place for packing dependent types. The canopies are coming in faster than they can push em out. There I will definitely be packing. unlucky1 0 #29 May 12, 2005 Used a home DZ packer about 10 times. I have 1 malfunction (lineover). That malfunction came from a packer's job. I would prefer to pack my own malfunction...that way, I can only blame myself. Anybody else have a packer pack a bad one for you?
GreenLight 8 #30 May 12, 2005 I'm with you on that one. Two malfunctions from pro packers and one from a newbie packer and I'm done with them. One of the mals was a high speed and those are scary. It's also very hard to find your main on the ground when it's still in the bag.Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." BIGUN 1,488 #33 May 12, 2005 I use your Mom's concession at WFFC. I have used independents at other boogies, but I watch them pack a couple of times while I'm packing. The ones that are sloppy or cut corners or shove the nose all the way back to the tail till the tail rolls completely around... nopeNobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. Icon134 0 #34 May 12, 2005 I used your Mom's service at the Dublin Boogie... mostly so I could concentrate on the 4-way competition... but typically I prefer to pack for myself.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
