highfly 0 #1 May 15, 2005 We had a night out on Saturday with work. Yellow Pages Hired out an amusement park for the night to say thanks to our advertisers. There must of been about 2000 people there. Now my question is....................... How many of you get a buzz from riding roller coasters etc? I went on the "biggest" 5 rides and I am sorry to say none of them gave me a buzz at all. Really sad eh? I think the only thing that can give me that buzz is the opening of an aeroplane door at 13k. Even thinking about it I get more of a buzz then riding a roller coaster. www.myspace.com/durtymac
hookitt 1 #2 May 15, 2005 Good rollercoasters are a blast. If you're always comparing it to skydiving then you get what you get. Amusement rides are not scary but they sure can be fun.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
highfly 0 #3 May 15, 2005 It wasnt a case of comparing it to skydiving, but there aint nothing that gives me the tingles apart from skydiving. I only have to think of the door opening and my hair stands on end. I need that buzz again www.myspace.com/durtymac

justaflygirl 0 #5 May 15, 2005 Until I started jumping, I loved roller coasters or any kind of thrill ride...now it does nothing for me, yeah its fun, but no big deal, I can take or leave it. And of I have to pay the high dollars to get into the amusement park...well forget it...it damn sure aint worth it!!!!!

2fat2fly 0 #7 May 16, 2005 I haven't made the time lately for a good roller coaster run but I still like that stomache drop feeling you get from them that doesn't happen with skydiving.I am not the man. tdog 0 #9 May 16, 2005 Rollercoasters are fun... I still enjoy them... But I really like the rides that are smooth and fast, like skydiving... How often in skydiving do you get shook around - not often... But a fun canopy spiral is smooth and high in Gs... That is fun... Last weekend in the snow I went to the Six Flags... I was the only one there. Well, maybe 10 other "paying" season pass customers... I rode the Half Pipe for an hour straight, until I had to get off or puke... The Half Pipe in Denver is awesome... Magnetic driven car that goes back and forth on a half pipe, while you spin around on a pod of 8 chairs... Often you get freefall on your back, on your side, and facing down... Love it. Skydiving did not ruin amusement parks for me... Too different.
Evelyn 0 #10 May 16, 2005 I've always loved roller coasters. My daughter and I attended a country music concert at six flaggs magic mountain on Friday and went on a couple roller coasters after the concert - scream and goliath. Wanted to go on X but it was closed. For me skydiving has nothing to do with roller coasters. I love roller coasters just as much as I did before skydiving. For me roller coasters are a scarey thrill, skydiving is the ultimate thrill, but not so scary as roller coasters. hookitt 1 #11 May 16, 2005 I've been on the big shot, I laughed cuz the person next to me was a "tough guy" and nearly threw up. The picture was funny, You could see him appearing like he's going to hurl and I was smilling giving a thumbs up. Scary? nah.. but it was a good rush and a great view. Are you saying eeneR is scary? My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
JohnMitchell 16 #12 May 16, 2005 Skydiving blows any amusement ride right out of the water, but I still like a good roller coaster. With my wife and our four kids, we can get a lot of screaming and yahooing going on when we ride. That makes it fun for me. Funny thing, a few years ago, my daughter and I were riding "The Paratrooper", a pretty mild ride that goes up and down and around and around. Nothing to it, but I almost puked! I had to hold my head so very still to keep down my lunch. I had the cold sweats and everything. I loved the irony of a guy with 4000+ jumps almost chumming on a kiddy ride called "The Paratrooper." Vallerina 2 #13 May 16, 2005 I got a buzz from Insanity on top of the Stratosphere in Vegas!!!! Best way for me to be reassured I could never jump off a building! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
ChasingBlueSky 0 #14 May 16, 2005 Still enjoy the rides, still go a couple times a year. If you rule things out as fun because they are not as "extreme" as skydiving then you are missing out on the bigger picture._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... AggieDave 6 #18 May 16, 2005 I got a HUGE buzz from the Titan at Six Flags over TX. Basically due to one turn that felt exactly like a snap hook turn, but it was only about 80ft in the air and it wigged me out since I felt like I just hooked it in to my death. I actually flared hard on that turn.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
kelpdiver 2 #19 May 17, 2005 My nervousness with heights still hasn't gone away, so I can still get a buzz out of a rollercoaster. It's more from the going up than the coming down, however. But I'm not willing to wait 30, let along 60 minutes for what it is.

kelpdiver 2 #21 May 17, 2005 I got one jump in my first 3 visits to the DZ. 7 of my student jumps were in a 206 or a 182. I'll wait a long longer to get a skydive than I will for a 2 minute roller coaster ride. One keeps me in a buzz the rest of the day. The other is an enjoyable minute, little more.
