Michele 1 #1 May 17, 2005 There is an article on the front page about a friend of ours...he was known here as Rebel, and I had the joy of being able to work with him in getting him into the sky. He was proud to call himself a skydiver, and we were honored to have him with us. He passed away over the weekend...and I wanted to start a thread so that we could let his family know how much Rebel was appreciated. You might not remember him, but if you read the article, and the previous one, you might just get a taste of who he was, and what an amazing person he was. If you have a remembrance, please post it here. If you have a thought, a comment, a story about your relationship with him, please post it. Whatever you'd like, please take a moment and remember Arthur. His family could use a little of the famous dropzone love. Thanks, all. AndyMan 7 #6 May 17, 2005 I'll take a minute to mention that every year, Chicagoland Skydiving Center Chicagoland Skydiving Center has a Skydiving for MS fundraiser. After a few years, it's now grown into a pretty big deal. It's amazing to see the event, because the DZ usually does take quite a few MS quads for tandem jumps as well as raising a truckload of money. It's compelling to watch these people do tandems, to catch a whif of true freedom for a fleeting moment. This years Boogie/fundraiser is being held on June 25th. http://www.skydivecsc.com/zone/calendar_detail.php?event_id=372. A $20 registration includes a t-shirt, dinner, drinks and live music. The fundraiser is run in association with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Illinois chapter. http://www.nationalmssociety.org/ild/event/event_detail.asp?e=456 _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. cindee 0 #10 May 17, 2005 I'll never forget Arthur. We shared some PM's after his second skydive. He talked about wanting to jump with the Golden Knights. He said he would let me know when he was back floating in the clouds. He was such an inspirational and beautiful person. Very much like you, Cindee, I also shared some great PMs and pictures about his jumps with Arthur. He also happily told me about his dreams of jumping with the Golden Knights. He was actually quite giving in what he shared with me, when I was inquiring about MS, too. His emotional and mental strength was truly impressive. What an amazing person that we had a chance to know. Fly free Rebel...may you rest in peace.

Muenkel 0 #15 May 18, 2005 To all of Arthur's loved ones, my deepest sympathies. I had the privilege to know Rebel through pm's here at DZ.com. It was he who reached out to me first about something I had written in the forums. He had a genuinely warm persona that immediately came across in his message. We continued to correspond quite a few times. His messages were always filled with hope. He had such a positive attitude. I don't think I ever told him how much he encouraged me when I was so seriously injured. Well, he knows now. I can honestly say that this is the first time I am posting on DZ.com with tears streaming down my face. Thanks Rebel for touching my life in a small but enormous way. Rest in peace my friend, Chris
