Beverly 1 #5 May 18, 2005 If you can get hold of some arnica tablets they work like a dream. They are homeopathic, so you can take them lots. They are for bruising and swelling and you pop them under your tongue. They really helped me not swell and bruise with my wisdom teeth. They help with skydiving bruises as well. If you can get some early and start taking them as soon as you come around, they are fantastic. Good luck! pincheck 0 #6 May 18, 2005 Damn thats got to hurt only been put under once as a kid hated it. think i kicked the dentist in the side as all i remebered was the brown mask. That single incident made me scared off dentists and saw me go through high school without seeing one . It took a friend later on after school to point me to his dentist who i have been with for about 15 years. you have my sympathy. get well soon girl. livendive 8 #7 May 18, 2005 Be thankful for the general. Uncle Sam removed my wisdom teeth and gave me a local; I've never felt so much *pressure* in my life. It wasn't really all that painful, but I swore they were about to rip my jaw clean off of my face. That was really, really disconcerting. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" kelel01 1 #9 May 18, 2005 I'll trade places with you. I loved getting mine out. So far, I've found being under anesthesia or just coming out of it to be preferable to pretty much any true waking moments in my life. Some people suffer ill effects, but my brain and body love anesthesia. Wish I could do it for you!

monkycndo 0 #18 May 19, 2005 I feel for you. Had all four of mine done at one time under local. Two were fully impacted with multiple roots and had to broken into pieces. The doc was the best and barely felt a thing. He would only do wisdom teeth on Friday to give you the weekend to recover. What made a huge difference was the post surgery advice. He gave me my first vicodine before I left the chair. If you keep the pain at bay, you never have to fight it back. Ice packs for 15 minutes at a time at 30 minute intervals alternating sides to keep swelling down. Rinsing with salt water to prevent dry socket/help the gums. Watching what you eat to be easy on the sore gums/jaw. I followed his advice and had no infection and only minor discomfort. Lots of ice cream.Enjoy the dreams under general, Monkeyboy50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

ltdiver 3 #20 May 19, 2005 QuoteI will be under a general anestheitc and having my 4 wisdom teeth taken out. Having wisdom teeth out was my very first experience being under general anesthesia. Kind of weird....I went to sleep on my back and woke up on my stomach. I asked, "when does it start?"...they answered, "It's already finished!" Very weird. Oh, and the bruise that followed was HUGE, going from black and blue to green as it headed down my neck....then turned to a beautiful yellow before it disappeared. And yeah, my mom took pictures for posterity. Have fun! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

karenmeal 0 #22 May 19, 2005 Aww.... LUCKY! If I could have my wisdom teeth out again, I would! It was a blast, not only does the insurance cover whip-its but the anestesia was fun for the whole rest of the day!!!
