dzdiva 7 #2 May 18, 2005 I work at a cancer center and back when I was doing my AFF there was a patient who was really interested in my jumping. We talked about it often. He was such a cool guy and so young. I'm trying to make a long story short here....he was failing and was on morphine and his wife came into the room and he was under the blanket going "Whoosh...whoosh". His wife asked what he was doing and he said "I did it! I jumped out of a plane!" One of our nurses was at the house and I called her, she held the phone to his ear and I told him he jumped with me. She got back on the phone and said that he actually smiled. A few hours later he passed away. His wife thanked me for what I did. I told her that it was nothing...I knew he wanted to fly so I thought it was the least I could do. I think of him often and it gives me peace to know that he's flying with the angels now."It's not just a daydream if you choose to make it your life..." mnealtx 0 #10 May 18, 2005 I've been lucky enough to be able to give some people a bit of financial help from time to time... In the last 8 years, I've probably helped people out to the tune of about 30k... family, old friends, even some new friends on here that have needed that little bit I was able to do. The only thing I've ever asked is that they "pay it forward" by helping someone else out when they can... isn't that what it's really about? Helping someone that needs it, without any expectation of payment?Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

When I told his wife about it she said "His sense of direction has always sucked." You Mike are an angel yourself. When I told his wife about it she said "His sense of direction has always sucked." That story is just too cool, good on you I guess i kind of made someone's day yesterday and had mine made in return. Not the coolest story ever but it turned out good. We were shooting a TV commercial in a dodgy part of town. We had to leave to head to our next location and my producer (who's pregnant) was driving to a cell phone store in the dodgy area to get hers fixed. I asked her if she was going to be ok and said here take my phone just in case you need it/get in trouble, when she refused i just handed it to her, hopped in our car and took off. She arrived at our next location with a huge bar of chocolate for me and told me that was such an unselfish gesture.
