Lindsey 0 #6 May 25, 2005 I haven't lost any friends to skydiving. This past year, though, I had a friend in medical school who stabbed his wife to death and then jumped from the 10th floor of a building on campus. That's horrific. Everyone hates him, justifiably, for killing his wife (who was the Dept. of Neurosurgery chief resident), but he was still a friend to many of us despite this horrible thing he did. I learned about it while I was at Rantoul last year. He had been an olympic athlete, but had failed to make it back to the Olympic games last year. He "snapped" or whatever shortly after the trials. At graduation this weekend, nobody mentioned his name--Rob Howard. He was at the top of my class and probably would have matched into a neurosurgery residency himself. I hope he found peace too. My heart breaks every time I think of him and his beautiful, beautiful wife Robin.... Peace~ linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Lindsey 0 #8 May 25, 2005 Kind of a heavy thought, but it's life sometimes. Whatever demons he had were his, not mine, and now they're gone. It makes me sad, but it doesn't screw with my head in unnecessary ways. I do wish he had just jumped if he felt the need, though, and not taken Robin with him.... Didn't mean to hijack the thread.
