Jump #666

Whew! Made it past the evil jump# 666 this weekend.

On jump #666 (tandem video) I made a late spin (about 1000 feet) and got the toggle caught in my camera wing attachment. That put me into a spiral obviously. I let go of everything and used both hands to disengage the SNAFU. I got it done in time ... whew! Glad that one is over!

I wasn't. I took a wingsuit out of a hot air balloon over an urban environment. To this day it is the most incredible jump I have made (even better than some of my earth BASE jumps out in Moab). I had to do something devilish for this jump.

I remember a pic in Parachutist of a guy doing jump 666 in a devil costume. Funny stuff. I happen to think that number stuff is crap. So.......it won't be any differen't for me than 665 or 667.

that's funny. I did my 666th with some friends, and then told them afterwards. One guy got really freaked out over it for some reason. I thought it was funny.

I have a degree in theology and I don't give it the mystical power so many religous people do -- I'm just aware of it's "evil" meaning to so many people here in the bible belt. I never thought about the # until after. It was funny -- hee hee -- yeah, right.

Some of the historians out there cliam that 666 is just a roman shortcut for the name Julius Ceacer,,so lot to do about nothing,,probably left over from the idiot days of people believing in witch's,,who knows. How about the fear of 13 ? Most elevators don't have #13 on them but if you go outside and count the floors,there sure is a 13,,goofy shit I tell ya....

It's funny............if you learn a little bit about say Native American or Pagan religions you find out why numbers like 13 are supposed to be unlucky. Because the Christian religions were trying to demonize everything in those religions. So.......all that "bad luck" crap was made up by a priest/pastor somewhere that wanted more parishoners=power=money.
