AggieDave 6 #2 May 29, 2005 That's why I'm at home right now. Was at the DZ earlier and all I was doing was posting on one of the computers. Weather sucks.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

grue 1 #4 May 29, 2005 computers and the internet at DZs... sheesh! In my day, we only had carrier pigeons at the DZ and if we wanted to be online...wait, shit. nevermind. During the 6 hour wind hold yesterday, I played a few rounds of golf on Tiger Woods on my PSP Since it's an hour and 40 minute drive to the DZ, I tend to stick around "just in case" I can make a jump. Turned out to be worth it, that "stick around" jump got me cleared for full altitude freefalls! cavete terrae.
AggieDave 6 #5 May 29, 2005 Its less then 15 minutes from my house to my DZ, that not with standing I'm staff at the DZ so I tend to be out there even when we're not open for jumping. Today the staff was all pissed off due to the weather so we all closed shop and forwarded the phones to the off duty number for manifest.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #6 May 30, 2005 So there I am, standing in my driveway drinking a beer and smoking a cigerette when I look up at the storm that brewing. Wouldn't you know it, saw a pretty mass of clounds rolling horizontally reasonably slowly. Watched it for a while, wasn't hailing (yet?) and wasn't even raining yet, the sky isn't green, but I stood there for probably 5 minutes watching that mass roll. It broke apart, but I had to stand there and watch. A few more minutes and I would have done exactly what any good redneck is supposed to do...run inside and grab my PC-105, put it in my d-box and put my helmet on my head to watch.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
