Acensky 0 #1 May 31, 2005 << I need to vent >> I was sitting in class and I got asked to go outside and talk with the proff. He said that my code looks just like two other people's. We have been working together all term and he just now said something.?? WTF. I have never cheated in my life. I can fail this class because our code looks very similar. I try to nice and help friends out and look at what I get, << end of vent >> Thanks for listening HeatherGarbage bags do not make good parachutes. jumpergirl 0 #2 May 31, 2005 That really sucks... is there any way to talk to him about it so you don't fail the class??
Acensky 0 #3 May 31, 2005 It sounds like he already has the mindset that we have cheated, he is going to look at the codes again. When you have a question and he is the only teacher to answer it and there are 20 other people with their hads up you ask your friends. HeatherGarbage bags do not make good parachutes. mailin 0 #4 May 31, 2005 I've had this happen 3 or 4 times in various programming classes. It can be really hard when working on elementary projects to maintain individuality. One of the easiest ways to change code to look more like yours - rename all your variables and add comments. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Like you I never cheated, but probably used the same resources everyone else in the class did JenArianna Frances

MichaelC 0 #6 May 31, 2005 This happened to a friend I was in school with. Turned out the girl got his code off his work station. She got busted on several offenses and an apology was offered to my friend. SELECT * FROM USERS WHERE CLUE > 0 (0 row(s)affected) Failure is not an option...it is integrated with every Microsoft product.
panzwami 0 #7 May 31, 2005 I hate hearing stories like this. I was still in school when this was going on. The "shoot first and ask questions later" approach was particularly refreshing.

Acensky 0 #10 May 31, 2005 I am going to go talk with him later on this week, and stand my ground. He has no right to call me a cheater. Especially something I did not do. And he even said that all the codes look the same. HeatherGarbage bags do not make good parachutes.
