goose491 0 #26 May 24, 2005 Bump! Okay, I've got a good feeling about this one. Have a look ladies and gents: 2001 Katana 600 17,500kms K&N Filter Dynojet jet kit Yoshimura Exhaust New tires $6000.00 Cosmetics include white lights, solo seat, blue tinted windscreen and indiglo gauges. One of the signals is broken (it was kicked) but he will fix it and have the bike certified if he gets his asking price. He's firm on $6000.00 but will throw in a Suzuki textile Jacket and helmet. Barring any obvious problems when I get to see it. What do you all think of the asking price? She sure is a pretty one eh? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! goose491 0 #28 May 24, 2005 It's Canadian dollars. That would be $4,750.00 USD. I figure he's got about $1800CND ($1444USD) conservatively in aftermarket. He'll have it safetied and throw in a jaket and helmet. Opinions please, what do you figure is reasonable with 17,500kms (10,867miles) ? Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! AggieDave 6 #29 May 24, 2005 QuoteOpinions please, what do you figure is reasonable with 17,500kms (10,867miles) ? That's like asking if a used rig is a good deal over the internet. Get a qualified mechanic to look it over to help you out. Also compare prices of used bikes of the same or similar model.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." goose491 0 #30 May 24, 2005 Agreed, it depends on the type of abuse it's taken. But I was told it is overpriced so I was just wondering if there was a suggested value. His asking price seems about right when compared to others listed of the same age and kms. I'd say a tiny bit on the higher side but then there's all the aftermarket. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! sdctlc 0 #31 May 24, 2005 I would have it checked out to see if it is mechanically sound, like you noted. Overpriced is a tough thing to call as well as it is worth what people will pay... If you have been looking for this bike and find out that the bike is in good shape after inspection, then it is a good deal. You know what you have been looking for and the pricing your seeing, if your happy with the asking price then go ot it, its a good deal for you. Are there better deals out there, hell deals always come and go but at some point you have to say "I like this deal" and go for it... Here is a 2001 on E-bay that has less miles but I dont know the reserve price. It is now at $3300 USD but reserve not met: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4551514468&category=50028&sspagename=WDVW Again deals come and go, but if you hav uit checked ut and your happy then who is to say it is a good deal other then you... Zep 0 #32 May 24, 2005 Just a thought, but have you thought about a VF750. Sport touring riding postion, really confortable ride an no cam chain I should imagine a good condition one should be in your price range. Gone fishing
goose491 0 #33 May 30, 2005 Bump again! Here she is! Nick's newest toy! This listed on Friday. Went to see it and snatched 'er up on Saturday. It is being safetied today and it's a beautiful day. If all goes well, I shall be riding tonight! 1993 Suzuki Katana 34,000kms, Ballistic saddle bags shown, One large Shoei helmet, and a kick-ass rain suit: $3,700.00 The bike is so clean. The seller just finished high school and needs to buy a car to go away to college. He put new tires on 'er last year but only rode about 4-5,000 kms. The chain was replaced two years ago. I remember this bike listing last year and this guy bought it out from under me! What are the chances?? Insurance is going to be a steal on this thing. I have to set it up today. I can't harldy wait! Squeak 17 #34 May 31, 2005 Did you get someone to go over thew motor, to see if it's been flogged out?You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
goose491 0 #35 May 31, 2005 I don't really know what "flogged out" means... if it means gutless from wear, all I did was request he not run the bike that day until I got there. It started right quick whilst cold. Then I had him open it up and give me a couple high speed passes as I stood on the road. The bike seemed to accelerate very quickly without any problems and it sounded real nice. Again, this was right after having started cold. The downshift sounded real sharp too. The thing has 34,000 kms on it so I'm sure it's worn to that extent but he rode it really well so I figure if it's made it this far... My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
