How tall are you?

Recommended Posts

I'm 5'8" and almost that tall too...:D

Ha, ok, seriously, I'm 6'1" and 250lbs, I feel your gear pain...however, there are quite a few of us big boy skydivers out there. It just seems that no one our size ever sells their gear.:D

Yeah, I'm at the point where I'm considering saying "fuck it", ordering a brand new harness/container custom, and then buying used canopies, but I don't really want to go that route unless I absolutely have to, since as a college student, that'd mean going into serious debt for gear.

It took me a decent amount of time to pay off the CC that I first bought gear on...then again, I had 200 jumps and a D-license before I had my own gear (begged and borrowed and used Texas A&M University Skydiving Club's gear).

Remember, if you can find something close, you can have a harness resized to fit you for just a couple hundred $$. If you find a rig you like, get the serial number and call the manufacture with your measurements, find out what it would cost to make it work for you.;)

You never asked?:D

Its one of those things that isn't necissarily mentioned all the time to students since it doesn't always pertain to them. I know that when students and low time jumpers come to me asking about gear I mention that, but I don't know to tell them if they don't ask.:P

I swear to god, looking at the classifieds to try and find a rig, nobody that skydives is over 5'10" or 150lbs, making it damned hard to buy gear since I'm 6'3", 210lbs

Actually, I think it's a really popular size so used rigs in your size are easy to sell locally or sell very quickly on the Internet.

I'm 6'0, 180 lbs.

:D:D Just don't try to do that with my gear, man...my torso measurement was soooo short that Aerodyne asked me to re-measure. they thought I had made a mistake! :P -I think it's only something like 13" from my hip ring...:o
