sunnydee123 0 #26 June 2, 2005 Hey girl..........great to see you and Rory this weekend! I did Body for Life for the last 4 years and it works. Honestly I think South Beach has the same type principle but BFL tells you a bit more about supplements when you get tired of thinking about food all the time. 5 - 6 SMALL meals a day, lots of water, some sort of exercise and you are set. The goal is to keep the body constantly "fueled" and "running"......3 squares a day that we have been taught our entire life really is a CROCK! Also a little tip that worked for me - stay away from SODA. The carbenation kills ya and caffeine makes you have those little "cravings".... You know what you have to do, as we all do....it's finding the proper motivation, getting over the first hurtle and then making it a life style! Good luck - I have TONS of info if you want me to PM or mail ya stuff before you head across the US - gonna miss ya. smooches and sweet little booty macks ...D Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... I agree, but I think you've got it backwards. Breads, pastas, and potatoes are simple carbs - since they're usually made from refined flours which end up being chemically very similar to table sugar. Vegies, fruit, and whole grains are usually complex carbs, full of vitamins, fiber, and protein. _Am Very possible I got it backwards with the simple/complex carbs... sheertrror 0 #28 June 2, 2005 I did do it, dropped quite a bit of weight. but if you aren't very overweight, you are better off changing you eating habits. I gained a lot of it back after i began lifting heavily again while eating right. I weigh about the same now as before the diet, but now i actually look good, (well so i am told, i dont ever think i look good.) Basically all SBD is is a reduction in calories, like any diet. calories in < calories expended in a day = weight loss. SBD will work well for people who don't know a lot about nourishment, diets and a proper food tree. With some effort, i found I can be much healthier with my own designed diet than any atkins, SBD or "Zone" stuff...._________________________________________ Sometimes I sits and thinks, other times i just sits.... SkydiveNFlorida 0 #29 June 2, 2005 Hi, mama. We actually own the Body for Life book, too. Admittedly, I never read it, it is something Rory added to the bookshelf when we moved in together. I am not familiar with the book at all. I just liked the idea of the SB Diet because it seems to employ a lot of the concepts I am trying to follow now, but to a higher degree. I don't drink soda anyhow, that is a demon that Rory will have to conquer, though. Thanks for the offer. I will let you know when we get started and how we do. :) We might be up this weekend, not sure if we're going to Seb or Clewiston yet. I am kinda out of jumping shape so don't know if i'm doing enough jumps to warrant the longer trip to Sebastian. Ok, love ya! :) -A

Complex carbs means your body has to work but making them sugar first. That includes bread, pasta, potatoes. Simple carbs/sugar are sugar as you get it from a sugar packet also referred to as glucose or Frutose the natural version of it that is found in fruits. Vegetables tend to have a lot of fiber in them and for that reason a large quantity of them is a small number of calories. Like a whole head of iceberg lettuce (without dressing) is an insignificant number of calories. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
