So here's the deal I'm currently unemployed...and about to relocate....I just got handed a check for 20k. Should I get back to work ASAP...or should I have a little fun this summer and jump my bean bag off?

Save the $$$!! It is so hard to get $20k together. If you invest it now, it will go a long way toward your retirement in 35 years. I would spend $2k and invest/save the other $18k.

In a few years that $18k will help you get a house or open a business. You need to make that money work for you. There is a tomorrow. You need to plan for it. Just like a plan a jump.

Have a little fun with the $2k it's more than you had yesterday and it will buy a lot of jumps and beer.

I would suggest getting a job ASAP and use the money to buy a house unless you already have one. It is generally hard to come up with a down payment and since you have that taken care of. It is much better to be putting money into your own investment rather than putting money into someone elses investment. Hell if you are not ready to buy a house just bank it and wait.

I would play until July 28th, then I would show up in Rantoul, volunteer to help set up the convention, let us feed and shelter you til the convention starts. Play like crazy at the WFFC, THEN look for a job. That's what I do every year. Boy is it FUN!

Get a job and pay for your beer and jumps like everyone else does. You may really need the money later. I know it sounds boring, but history shows that if you invest the 20K now, it will be about 300K when you retire.

That's how much profit share I cashed out when I left the real world some 10 years ago. I bought a big blue van, made a bunch of t-shirts and went boogie hopping....
