HELP! can't sleep at night

Recommended Posts

HELP! I can't sleep at night, I keep having nightmares of,acutally i keep reliveing expriences of friends who have been killed or died as the result of skydiving accidents. I have been jumping since 1996 & have about 1400 jumps, instructor rated, and feel I have a good understanding of the sport. Just lately I keep having these dreams that wake me all t/o the night,my g-friend is very concerned,as I am. My sleep is at about 1-2 hrs. per night and I can't concetrate during the day. PTSD? stress?, or just going crazy?

Do the intelligent thing just drink your way to oblivion! Lots of booze and sex! Sleep is over rated!:)

Edited to add: Shouldn't this be in Bonfire? Or maybe just my answer....

Our dreams are the result of subconscious thought, so you should try and trace back to when exactly these dreams started to happen.

Reoccuring dreams are rare but not uncommon, and it does indicate you have something weighing on your mind. Could it be that you have recently had a jump that scared you, or you saw something on the dz that scared you, that it was the anniversary of a friend passing and has jogged memories, that you haven't jumped as much as usual lately etc?

Try to think when the dreams first started and why you think it might have been. It might take some introspection, but looking within yourself and whats on your mind usually helps when finding the answer to ones dreams/nightmares.

some tribes of american Indians used vision quests to find out the source of there troubled dreams. They are even easier when you are sleep deprived. try some meditation and serious introspection and you will figure it out.

Did my comment take your mind off of your nightmares? ;)

Look for something to TOTALLY take your mind off of what you may be dreaming of and it may help. :)
And if that doesn't work, though your wanting to ask other jumpers if they have a cure for your nightmares, try looking somewhere else besides an internet forum on something that is part of your problem. :)
Change something in your life to make you think of other things when you sleep. ;)
