321seeya 0 #1 June 7, 2005 Justaflygirl left work today in hopes to "Air it out" and instead ended up landing on the taxiway (Tarmac) barefooted with no flare. (OUCH!) She was taken by ambulance to the local hospital (Pasco County) for abrasions to her feet. When I talked to her last, she said that 3 of her toe nails were rashed off. I will post in the incidents forum when she gets here and all of the facts are known. Right now this is what we know: Equipment: Javelin TJN/Sabre 2 150/PD126R/cypres 3 Jumps on the new canopy (including this one) and only about 70 total. For those of you that know her PLEASE send her some wise words with your vibes! I have talked till I am blue in the face about safety and good choices while skydiving, and it doesnt seem to be doing any good. I know she talks to quite a few of you on a regular basis, and maybe hearing it from someone other than her signifigant other will help. I sold her last reserve (PD 126R) Because she wanted to jump it at around only 30-35 jumps...(She is around 135lbs OTD) and I told her it was not safe. She just recently bought this one from a friend. I have had NUMEROUS conversations with her about the consequences of jumping barefoot, and the all around danger of having a luke warm attitude about safety. Hopefuly what didnt kill her will make her stron....err...Smar...err...Safer BASE 3:16 - Even if you are about to land on a cop - DONT FORGET TO FLARE! I have had them stick to my shoes/tevas and then got them in my finger trying to remove them from the shoes. They are nasty.

We originally bought her rig for use at a LATER time!..(got a great deal on it) she was wanting to jump it, and the best way I could figure to keep it on the ground till she was ready for it was to sell the reserve. She just recently bought a new one (without me knowing) and reassembled the rig...) Hope thins clarifies Just trying to clarify.
