chopchop 0 #1 June 6, 2005 Well.. it certainly was yesterday.. and here is one pic to prove it. I have lots more.. of the 3 Forestry Services helicopters and when the hangar was completely obscurred by smoke.. but this one kinda says enough. Skydivers rock.. When we realized the hangar was in jeopardy, we had every rig and valuable piece of equipment out of there in about 20 minutes. Thankfully all ended well.. We have a charred landing area but the structures, planes and all equipment were spared any damage.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Sebazz1 2 #2 June 6, 2005 You guys where all over the news last night. Pictures from freefall, the hangar, the field ablaze, interview with gravitygirl... It sounds like they stopped the fire before the road. I am glad and thankful everyone and their gear is ok. It must have been pretty intense.
Cornholio 0 #3 June 6, 2005 Wow! I missed the excitement by a day. Glad to hear everything is OK. Can you post any more details like how it started, where it spread ? Any more pics ? Butthead: Whoa! mfrese 0 #21 June 6, 2005 DAMN! I just caught a quick second of an interview with Bonnie on channel 2 this morning, and from the footage they showed you couldn't tell exactly where it was. Glad you all are OK and there's no damage to plane, gear, or hangar (aside from Jeff's Stiletto...but hell, he probably shouldn't be jumping that thing anyway Roy, any chance you can post some pics from the air?Doctor I ain't gonna die, Just write me an alibi! ---- Lemmy/Slash
chopchop 0 #22 June 6, 2005 I didn't take stills on that jump.. So it is just DV footage. And I don't have the tape with me. Brian was downloading his and my footage to the news stations when i left and still has my tape. It was amazing how fast that fire swept from Vasco Road to Falcon Way.. It was a very emotional afternoon.. that ended in serious relief and happiness. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Um, is everyone from Byron accounted for? It sucks no matter who the poor person was, but...it wasn't a local jumper, was it??~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. chopchop 0 #25 June 6, 2005 The accident was quite a ways from the dropzone.. As far as I know, it is not a jumper but it is a tragedy. Edited to add: That is part of the reason that the fire department took so long to respond.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking..
