Jethers203 0 #1 June 9, 2005 Just curious, I am getting a policy and was wondering what everyone had. Also, what company do you use? Clint D-24352
popsjumper 2 #2 June 9, 2005 Now this is a good question....I'm also interested...not that I need it or anything being the great skydiver that I am.... . . . . . My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
cocheese 0 #3 June 9, 2005 I used to sell and own almost every type of insurance product on the market. Now i sell and own almost none of it. Just have car, health and homeowners.I always loved the racing /skydiver questions. Sure freaks out the home office, so they say skydiving not covered.... unless you sell your rig to pay for the extra cost.

GARYC24 3 #9 June 9, 2005 I got the one that is offered at work place. It becomes effective when I'm dead.
Spatula 0 #10 June 9, 2005 I have Life Insurance, through NY LIfe. It covers skydving and all other "activities" I choose to participate in. Granted I secured the coverage before I was an active, licensed, member of USPA jumper. At that point I was not a skydiver, so I got a great rate. AggieDave 6 #11 June 9, 2005 Full Health insurance through Fortis. Clint, if you want, I can give you my dad's number, he's an insurance guy and knows what polices to use for skydivers.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Jethers203 0 #14 June 9, 2005 Dave, I appreciate that, but I was primarily asking because I am starting in the insurance business in Houston and was wondering what other skydivers have. I am going to try to build some of my market through skydivers in east Texas. I was also asking because I am looking to do a policy on myself. I talked to an underwriter at my company today and he said: "For a D-Licensed skydiver who makes over 100 jumps a year, the annual premium would increase $5 per $1000 of coverage." "For a D-Licensed skydiver who makes under 100 jumps a year, the annual premium would increase $3 per $1000 of coverage." Clint PS. I am not trying to conduct business because I know that is against DZ.com rules. However, what is the rule on getting refferals from people? I.E. If you know anyone that is in the area that I could contact.
squirrel 0 #15 June 9, 2005 sure, but how do YOU collect? i might have more fun spending that money at manifest, or vegas. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
Jethers203 0 #16 June 10, 2005 I am Still trying to find out the question I asked in the ps of my last post. Is it against the rules to ask around for business referrals on DZ.com? I'm not advertising just asking around and trying to get to know people in the area. Thanks for the help. Clint D-24352
AggieDave 6 #17 June 10, 2005 Business for insurance shopping. I'm telling you, my dad has helped out more then a few skydivers to find insurance. PM me if you're wanting his office number. He's in TX so he's licensed for TX and can help you specifically.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Jethers203 0 #18 June 10, 2005 Again I appreciate that as well. I guess I should be more clear. I am also licensed to sell insurance in TX and I am in Houston. I started out the post to just see what type of insurance skydivers use because: a) They will be part of my market. b) I want to do a policy on myself and was seeing what other jumpers have. I am not trying to conduct business, just seeing who is in the Houston area that may be interested or knows people that would be. I am trying to meet as many people as possible down here. My question in the last post was whether or not that was allowed. Sorry I didn't make it more clear and thank you for the help. Clint D-24352
