mailin 0 #2 June 10, 2005 Yep, it'll probably hurt for another few days. Just lounge around and watch TV. It gets better quickly Hope the results were great! JenArianna Frances
jumperboy357 0 #3 June 10, 2005 I'm a nurse in a cardiac cath lab. There are several variables that could be causing your pain. Some pain is normal since they put a sheath into your femoral artery. The amount of bruising is dependent on the amount of blood thinners given during your case, the technique used for the arteriotomy, the size of the sheath and the technique used for sheath removal. Some pain and tenderness is going to be expected. Of course my recommendation is if it's too uncomfortable consult the cathing physician. It's better to be safe than sorry. skydiverbry 0 #4 June 10, 2005 I used to be a Respiratory Therapist and worked cath lab a few times. I believe Dr. Mengele, assisted by Nurse Ratched using a 4 gauge needle and 2 1/4 in. sheath, with about 20 attempts to hit the fem. art. did the procedure. Best part was Versed and Fentynal cocktail they gave me. Unfortunely they did give it to me until after the cath. DR. said he was sorry it was his first time cathing a human & could'nt remember whic came first sedation or needles. Well at least Idid"nt need my chest cracked!!-------------------------------------------------- Growing old is mandatory.Growing up is optional!!
