I've done a lot of resume reviews...

Pet peeve: use of "responsible for." Don't tell them what you are responsible for, tell them what you did. Go with action-oriented verbs.

If there's any accomplishments you can quantify, do that (increased revenue, increased efficiency, decreased down time, whatever).

I'm not a big fan of objectives on a resume, but some people like them. Yours is just vague and buzzwordy enough that it would annoy me. Others might not care.

Otherwise, looks pretty good. Hope that helps.

If it's your current job, aren't you supposed to use the present tense?

College. I worked at the YMCA, should I add it?

I think education is an important part of a resume. But then, I work at a university and professional resumes include everything you've ever done and easily reach 25-50 pages. Do you have a page limitation? Really though, you could have that work experience w/out a degree. One thing I would add are accomplishments, awards, etc. Are you a member of any professional societies or presented talks at conventions attended?

If you want I can give you a call to give you some pointers.

btw - one quick thing to think about. The resume should show me why I should hire you. Your responsibilities are nice to know, but it doesn't tell me what you did and what benefit that company saw from paying you. What did you achieve? How much money did you make/save? How did you handle problems unique to your position? What else can you tell me about what you did? What are you most proud of? What was your top accomplishment? Why should I look at your resume? What is it about yours that makes you better than the rest?
Previous success = future success.

Rank your skills on a scale of 1-10. Take the ones you rank 7/8 or above and focus on those strengths. Be ready to speak in depth about them. I don't care about the stuff you 'kinda' know. I'm not hiring you for those skills.

I get so much resume spam that I spend seconds on most resumes. If I have to guess what you do, or why you sent me your resume I don't even bother. I'm looking for top notch talent, and top notch talent are not vague and do not have generic resumes. Make sure you are specific in what you are looking for. Make sure you have multiple versions of you resume that are customized for each postion you apply for.

I've looked at over 300 resumes this week so I might know what I am talking about.

Okay.. so lets say I do an exceptional job, but my job is nothing exceptional. I can get my client installed and trained with very little or no trouble, particularly compared to my co-workers. But how do your accomplishments look exceptional when theres nothing exceptional about your job? Anything I do just makes my project manager shine.

Do you have benchamarks you need to meet? Do you help with scope creep? Do you have a success rate for brining projects in on time/budget? Are you client facing? If so, what success stories can you tell me there? Conflict resolution, deliving a tough message, etc,. If you make your PM look good, then there are things to brag about - it means you are doing your job and doing it well. Has your work saved your client money? What was the effect of the project being completed on time? Client success from a good project is something you can brag about as well - it is because of your work they were able to reach those achievements.
