Recommended Posts

I’m planning to take a short road Trip from New England to Florida in 2 weeks.

What are some fun things to do along the way?

hmmm...I think thats either the weekend I'll be jumping in Parkton (the spot is usually over the I-95 median) or Jumptown.

Running away from me?

Cool website

Edison - Menlo Park, New Jersey - World's Largest Light Bulb
Off Route 27, there is a wonderful memorial to Thomas Alva Edison. A large Lighthouse at the top of the hill is topped by none other than a huge incandescent light bulb.

Easton, Pennsylvania - Easton Museum of PEZ
Hoping to capitalize on the success of the Crayola Factory, the Easton Museum of PEZ opened up nearby in the center of Easton, PA in July 2003. The museum displays over 1,500 PEZ dispensers in creative theme exhibits. The museum is not affiliated with the PEZ Candy Co. based in Connecticut.

Intercourse, Pennsylvania - World's Most Stolen Signs
This is the name of a small town in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch country in Lancaster County. It is mostly a tourist attraction in the summer. There are lots of small shops and there is also an old hardware store that the Amish people frequent.
It is not hard to find but you cannot find any road signs directing you there. They are stolen as fast as they can be put up so the road dept. doesn't buy them anymore.
Directions: It is located on a road known as the Old Philadelphia Pike (State Route 340) about twelve miles east of Lancaster.

While I think this is the best Idea and I love hanging with the cool kids, my friend does not jump. Well, I got him to do 1 tandem and gave him my copy of JUMP!

I would SO LOVE to take a road trip down the east coast hitting EVER DZ. The summer is not over yet ……..

I try not to badger people into skydiving, but, I am sure by the time I fly home he will never want to hear words such as skydive, jump, or canopy again.

I have made a compromise. On Saturday, I plan to hit Zhill and the tunnel. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I am renting a car and heading to DeLand.

Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC !!!

marc

I'M going! again.

It will be much better then the first time I went, back in 1991ish. The "I AM SO HAPPY TO BE AN AMERICAN" vacation with mom and dad.

I think Williamsburg Virginia maybe the most boring place on earth.

The Museum of History at the Smithsonian is really cool too.

That said, my first thought at something for a trip was "well, there's the alphabet game, and 20 questions..." :)

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

I drove from MA to FL about a year ago. I just basically ordered the vacation guides for all the states on the way. I really liked checking out all the different scenic things along the way - Blue Ridge parkway was nice and I stopped off at a few caverns along the way. Have fun! I'm sure it will be a blast regardless of what you see and do.
