skybytch 273 #1 June 20, 2005 Well, okay, so he may not end up driving NASCAR but... Last Saturday my kid drove in his first stock car race. No, he didn't win (he didn't expect to and wasn't going to drive it that hard his first time out anyway), but he also didn't wreck the car. He's been working pit crew during races and fixing what's broke during the week for a "street stock" dirt track car for the past year or so. The owner/driver has other things going on and offered David the driver slot if he wanted it. What fast car crazy 21 year old male wouldn't be all over a chance like that! He thought racing was cool before, but after last weekend the hook is completely set. Now he has to search out sponsors to help cover the costs of racing every week. My kid is definitely cooler than I am.

eeneR 3 #5 June 20, 2005 Dirt or ashpalt?? My dad used to own half a car at a local dirt track...I got to work pit crew. It was soooo much fun. It was a nascar sanctioned track, so I had a NASCAR Pit Crew permit She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
