Who to date?!?!

Recommended Posts

Here is a question that a bunch of skydivers tend to ask...I am a jumper myself and have had one skydiving relationship...What do ya'll think..
;)
Is it better/easier for the relationship to date a skydiver or not?

Personally, I'd rather date a skydiver. They already understand the sport/risks associated with it and are less likely to have an issue if you wake up...snuggle against them...and say "DZ today, honey?"

I'm marrying a skydiver.

Does that answer your question?:D

She was a whuffo when you met her. Your case is special... Not relavent to the question.

I've had a few serious relationships (including marriage) with skydivers. I have had a few relationships with non-skydivers. I choose jumpers over non-jumpers simply because I like to share my passion (and they seem to be more understanding, for the most part). :)

How about ex-jumpers? I understand the risks involved, but, I don't jump so more money for you to jump. :D

I'm already jumping someone. :D:D:D:D:D

But, to answer your question, I'm not sure I would want an ex-jumper. I mean, I wouldn't want to start dating someone who doesn't jump anymore. I would rather he be an active jumper when we get together. What happens later can be delt with later. :)

I would rather date a jumper. My weekends are primarily spent on a DZ somewhere and it would be nice to jump with my man and then be able to cuddle up with him afterward. But, also I don't want it to be the glue that holds us together. During the week, he's gotta be a freak with me...;)

Dunno lost the desire.. if I had a special someone who jumped might be different. That and I don't enjoy dz politics and experienced jumpers refusing to jump with the newbs. I was burnt out doing solos all the time.

Not the thread for reasons why I don't jump..

I dont think it makes a damn bit of a difference if it is a jumper or not. Yes it would make weekends easier but that is only one part of the big picture.

the true answer here...someone that loves me for me, respects me and my silly hobbies...has hobbies of there own that we can share stories about...and ooh maybe just maybe can communicate with me...

Doesnt need to be a jumper, im not going to look at relationships narrow minded that way.

Now, if I could find a whuffo that isnt afraid of a girl who isnt a chickenshit...I would be in business. keep coming up empty there...

:D ahh yes... the single life :D

I would rather date a Skydiver... but having said that... Skydiving can't completely overshadow other things...

For example I may not want to go skydiving every weekend... sometimes I might have an itch to climb a rock face or crawl around in a cave...

Also, some culture would be nice...

btw: Julia if you wanted to go out all you had to do was say something... I mean... um... Hey hows it going lesley?!?:D

When the right one comes along, it won't matter at all if the person is a skydiver, base jumper, whuffo. Sure, I'd prefer a skydiver...would I turn away a base jumper if he was the right one? No. Would I turn away a whuffo if he was the right one? No.

There are a lot of personal preferences, but when it all comes down to it, the person and how they treat me and how we interact as a couple is what makes the relationship...not the hobbies/activites/etc.

What's up ther Icon?!?! Back to the last post...I am not being narrow-minded...I have tried to date whuffos but hell if they understand why I need to go and throw myself from an airplane and hang at a DZ all wkend...Yeah there are some wkends where I will do something different but for the most part I am at the DZ...I would not turn down someone just bc they don't jump but you get brownie points if you do...Base jumpers can apply also... hehehe;)

I personally think that whether or not they are a Skydiver (although a Jumper would be better) is the criteria you should use...

I think your main considerations should be can they make great Jello Shots, How good do they look wearing just a Tucan and are they handy with a Paint Brush and Liquid Latex!!;)
