livendive 8 #1 June 24, 2005 Just wondering what the average jump ticket costs these days at other DZ's (in the US). Not special rates, no bulk discounts, not a hop & pop or CRW altitude ticket. If you walk up to manifest, with cash, on a regular weekend, and want to go to the top, how much are they going to charge you? If it's not an even dollar amount, just round it up or down as appropriate. Edit to make the "in the US" bit a little more obvious. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" skychick312 0 #2 June 24, 2005 It is $20 cash and I believe $21 for C.C... It is well worth it to ride up on our pimp ass king air, 8 mins to 14,000...can't beat it!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Be the change you wish to see in the world! John4455 0 #8 June 24, 2005 I understand that fuel prices are high and I'm not a dropzone owner and probably wouldn't ever want to be. Since I started jumping just over 8 years ago, turbine jump ticket prices have went up $7. The last price increase was a $2 jump. These high jump ticket prices are going to hurt the sport. People aren't going to jump as much. How do ya like it Johnny?

rehmwa 2 #14 June 24, 2005 QuoteIt is $20 cash and I believe $21 for C.C... In general, a 5% surcharge on Credit Card is very out of line and the credit card companies would normally withdraw their service if they found out. I think it's illegal at that amount even. But, you can rename it at $21 per jump and a $1 discount for cash and suddenly it's ok. Who knows more on this? ... Thanatos340 1 #15 June 24, 2005 QuoteThese high jump ticket prices are going to hurt the sport. It is not the DZO`s fault in most cases. Look at the price of Fuel. If anything the DZO`s have been taking a Beating trying to Keep the cost of Jump Tickets down while their Costs have been skyrocketing. These outrageous Fuel Prices are driving up the costs of everything. And yes, People are going to Jump less, Because they will have less money.

John4455 0 #17 June 24, 2005 I noticed last saturday (we had a busy tandem day) that everyload I was on (I did 9 jumps) was mostly full of staff members and customers. TI's, tandem passengers, a few AFF intructors with stucents, the 4 way team, who I think gets a lot better rate I'm sure. There weren't alot of what I would call "fun jumpers" that just jumped for fun and didn't work it off somehow. I'm in no way blaming a DZO for high fuel bills, I just hate to see the sport stop growing. How do ya like it Johnny?

You can advertise a price and then offer a cash discount but you cannot charge more for using a credit card. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
