skycat 0 #3 June 25, 2005 Is the bike ride something you can do any weekend? If the answer is no, go for the ride, the sky is there ever weekend, well unless it's raining or to windy, but technically it's still there, you just can't play in it.Fly it like you stole it! BillyVance 35 #4 June 25, 2005 When you have a chance to, go to Maui and try the world's longest downhill bike ride. It's a half-day of fun riding down the world's largest dormant volcano from a starting elevation of approximately 9,000 feet MSL and ending at a beach on the north shore. I don't remember how many miles it is, but you only have to pedal about 200 yards to get over a very slight rise near the end. It's awesome... do the early morning ride, and watch the sunrise from the top of the volcano, and you can see Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the big island some 50 miles away. I hope I get a chance to do it again. BillyVance 35 #7 June 25, 2005 QuoteHmmm.. I guess I should of been more specific. Motorcycle ride or jump.. Go to Eloy on Junk Day and ask to take your bike off the skyvan... of course, make sure it's a shitty bike you won't mind losing to mother earth... CanuckInUSA 0 #8 June 25, 2005 If you ride all the time and hardly jump, then go jump. But if you jump a lot and haven't ridden in a while, go ride the bike. Do what will make you the happiest. Or better yet, do the one which is least effected by tomorrow's weather. It would suck to miss out on a ride because you're sitting at the DZ waiting for the clouds to clear. But at the same time, you could be missing out on some fun jumps if you've got good WX conditions. It's your life, your time. Do what will make you smile Saturday night after the great day you just had. One thing I like about jumping is that there are so many different, fun and cool aspects of the sport. If you're burning out on one discipline, go try another. But never jump in marginal WX conditions because you really need that jump. The skies will be there tomorrow to play in. But not if you're messed up because you jumped in weather conditions you shouldn't have been jumping in. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Getting to enjoy the scenary all the way down on a bike would be amazing. ************** For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return. ~Leonardo da Vinci~
jose 0 #10 June 26, 2005 Multi-task dude. I ride in the morning when its cool out. Ride till about 12, then park truck with bike still in the back at the DZ and jump the rest of the day. Now if I only lived near some surf, I could throw in a couple sessions in there for good measure. Roast some dogs over the fire on the beach with many 12oz curlers when the sun goes away. That would be a awesome day. Damn, need to move back to So. Cal.
Angelfish 0 #11 June 26, 2005 QuoteSimply Ride your bike to the dz and that way you do both at the one time Ditto that!!! At my DZ, I know of a couple of skydivers who have about a 45-minute ride on their sportsbike from their home to the DZ. Today alone, there were 3 sportsbike parked @ the DZ. Perhaps you can alternate your weekends... Bike ride one weekend, then skydive another weekend. ______________________________ Don't fear the reaper. ...
