Thank God it's just a phone problem....I was afraid you had seen the preseason rankings. (Lindy's......Mich #3, A & M #16)

Bwahahahaha!
Right.
Well, we're still ranked higher this year going into the season then last year. It should be a fun year for football.
Now, back to the phone. I'm going to the Cingular store tomorrow and telling them I would like a new phone, even a cheap phone, or I'm going to switch services. I've reached that point of frustration.

Get a Motorola V 551. So far I have thrown mine into water, thrown it into a fire, and dropped it numerous times and it still works and even looks just fine! Pretty tough phone.
not charging is the battery, not the phone... two years is kind of short to build up a memory, but get a new battery before you shoot the phone...
ps.. if you DO shoot the phone get video.... I vote for the skeet pull and shoot... your a texan, you should be able to hit it in the air from a hip draw right?

One of the guys at my DZ JMed me on a load and forgot to take his mobile phone out of his jeans. It fell out as soon as he left the plane, and once he found it later that day, it was still working
Its not really the battery not charging, its the phone not recognizing the charger, then recognizing it and trying to charge for 5 seconds, then not recognizing it for 15 seconds, then recognizing the charger for 5 seconds, etc.
I've left it "charge" over night and now have 1/4 of a battery level.

Great idea, never shot one but I did run one over. I was out 4-wheelin with a friend and the old g-friend kept callin, callin, callin, wellya get the pic,so out pure aggravation, not to mention a "couple" of beer and prompting from above friend. I placed it in front of a 38 in. Gumbo Monster Mudder and stomped the gas and pop the clutch. The phone became part of the rooster tail, when we picked up what was left and when we got back turn it into insurance, new phone on the way,it was a accident. Right?

So help me god, one more week and I'm blowing this god damned thing away.
The question is should I use .45, 9mm or 12-gauge?
My suggestion is to hand it off to your local BASE crew. Have them take it to their favorite local crane and have them drop it over pavement. Get it on video top and bottom. Just make sure there are no passers-by who might get injured due to flying bits.
Great fun. Like Dave Letterman's watermelon drop, only better!
It looks like you adopted my problems that I was having with my phone while I was out there. My car charger had a short. The electric charger has issues. The battery is iffy at best. We ordered a new car charger for me, but not realizing that I would be out there for 3 weeks instead of 1, we shipped it to GA instead of picking it up.
MAN, by Monday and definitely by Tuesday on my ride home, I would've given you MY phone to shoot too.
But I hooked up the new car charger this morning and the phone seems to be holding a charge now.
Have you considered the old theory of "resetting" the memory on the battery? You wrap the battery thoroughly and then freeze it for a few hours. Then you thaw it. Make sure it's dry and then give it a recharge.

Yep, you're a postwhore-billyvance
I took it to the local shop and they played with it for a while. The port is bad for the charger on the phone. So, they set me up with insurance and said "give it atleast 24hrs and call this number, they'll send you a new phone." Sweeeeet.
So I'm not quite so pissed off now, just slightly annoyed and hopeful.

That's excellent, Dave!!!! I went to Sprint in person and talked to them about my "insurance." The guy gave me a phone number and said that I had to deal with it over the phone, not in a store. They would charge me $50 for replacing the phone and then he didn't know what phone. Whatever happens to be available. I guess I am going to cancel that plan. For what I have paid for it, I could have bought several phones right now.
Does this mean we're not going to see video of you shooting yours now?

none of the above...
AR-15 at 50yards, if too close you could get hit by phonel (shrapnel from phone)
OR
you could buy a new battery. They die after about 2 years. I keep a car charger in my car as well
