I have a date! Where to take her?

Recommended Posts

Background:

She's a smart, fun, gorgeous, classy college soccer player (just like me, without the smart, gorgeous, and classy parts!), and I've known her for a little under a year. I asked her today if she'd like to go out for dinner sometime, and she accepted.

I'd like to not fuck this up, so I'm looking for suggestions :S

Outback seems like the obvious choice, but most college students consider it kinda expensive, and I'd hate to over-do it.

Comedy clubs are lots of fun, but you'll want time to talk so my vote is for Outback. I was all for the Italian joints until I thought....onions, garlic, red sauce....yeah, go for Outback. ;)

And, congrats on getting yourself a great opportunity. Don't blow it! :P

What up Grue?!?!?! ;)

Congrats on the date, sorry for the thread hijack. I am going to have 2 AMAZING guys to jump with at the boogie this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! B|B|B|
Are you going to be there? :)If you don't have your A, I wonder if they'd let you do the rest of your training jumps out of the King Air???

Probably not...:|?

Why on Earth would you want to take her to an Outback Steakhouse, that's like taking her to Maccas, find a nice small resaurant near a theatre or cinema, and take her to a show or movie:)
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)

Looks like I won't make the boogie, jump-wise, I was going to jump tomorrow but it's gonna be hella windy it looks like.

I doubt they'll let me do the rest of my jumps out of the king air, but c'est la vie. there's always next year!

umm i'm with squeak on this one. if outback is her favorite, she needs a little more variety. to try something new! half of the fun is not knowing. i chose the last one...

don't get me wrong, i like outback. i like those onion appetizers and the waiters wear flare. B| but maybe she meant favorite place to eat... after a game? it's just way to noisy for a first date imho.:)
i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

Just remember you only get one chance to make a first impression! Taking her to Outback will tell her that you care about what is important to her. It is a neutral place that you know she likes so that is always a win win situation. This will allow you to find out more about each other while not worrying about if she likes it or not or if she is comfortable.

Words of wisdom for Mango Mike!;)

Party on and stay safe!

Well, she's young for one, and for two it's a small town, so there aren't a lot of fun, good places to eat. I'll see if I can't subtly snag a few ideas from her.

She's under 21, so no drinks for her. I'm a non-drinker... so no drinks for me!

Damn...........no help from alcohol. Sheesh..........this is going to be a tough one. :D

My good looks and endless charms will have to help me convince her I'm the man she's always wanted!

Oh my god, it looks like he will have to resort to the old ways and actually act like a human being and a gentleman.......what is the world coming to?:o:):P;)I hope that he is at least the second generation to walk upright!:P

Well..............just remember one thing. She is JUST as nervous and feels JUST as awkward as you do. Just be yourself and let the dice roll. ;) OK OK..........wait...........be your POLITE self. You're not at the DZ! :D

:D Truth be told, the hardest part for me is getting 'em to go on the date, after that I generally do pretty well, until they realise I'm too damned nice and friend-zone me. Not gonna happen this time! I.... must.... succeed! (She even wants to do a tandem sometime!)

nah, but do have a plan since you asked her out. there's nothing worse than
"where you wanna go?" "i dunno.. where you wannago?" repeat. repeat. repeat. ugh! :D
go wherever your friend mentioned. you can talk while you look over the menu. if their menu has a m bunch of nasty stuff on it, you can just make fun of the menu. it will give you more to work with than going to the same old place where you probably already know what you want. you know, little things like that... it will be fun!

just polish urself up. haha i feel for you tho! i forgot what it's like not being my normal trainwreck self;)

You know what they say about polishing a turd... ;)

Anyway, I'll ask a couple more mutual friends for advice. Most commonly given non-malicious advice will probably be taken :D

Dude, clean your place up and make her dinner there.
Make several different things to eat so she finds something she likes for sure.
Then ask if she wants to try to score a goal on you as you toss her the ball.
She'll say " no i'm stuffed"
and pass out. Then YOU go to the titty bar.

Take her to do some kind of fun outside activity that she can participate in like goofy golf, a bike ride, etc.. The activity will ease the jitters and you can talk too. Then take her to dinner.

You should know then if you were paying attention to her.

I'd take her to the comedy club...Women love to be with people that make them laugh....Even if you are not the one she most likely will not leave with the guy on stage,a nd you brought her there.

NOT for a first date. Even if his intentions are good, the girl might get the wrong idea and get spooked.

Take her to a place you like- nothing too fancy or expensive or loud or crowded, but also not too intimate or cavelike. Not for a first date, anyway.
