Why I Like Summer

Recommended Posts

My evening was better than yours was.

Showed up at the dz after 5pm to do some skyjumping with Marcus, who's headed to Hawaii with Jenny tomorrow. Weather was warm, winds were light and variable (surf was up).

First jump was an 8 way RW. Most people were in shorts and tshirts, I was wearing freefly pants and a tshirt, two people were wearing jumpsuits. They took a 3 way base off, we built a BFR, broke it to a line and tried to spin the line.

Second jump was a hybrid. Keith, Marcus and Pete took a three way off the PAC with me, Kim and Jen launching with them and then hopping up while on the hill for the rodeo. Four freefliers came down and played with us. Awesome skydive. Can't believe the piece didn't funnel (those guys are pretty good skydivers, I guess ;)).

They did another load after that but most of us were more into a cold beer.

Yeah. That's what I love about summer. Sweet skydives with awesome people on a weekday evening. B|

Yeah............summer is usually very good with me. Of course.........I COULD use it to cool down just a bit. I was trying to pump gas yesterday and the pump handle was SO hot that literally couldn't hold onto the metal parts. :S The bad part..........it's only going to get hotter for the next 60 days or so. Unfortunately it's winter here [:/]. Still, I'll be in Perris in early August for some tunnel, coaching, and maybe even a fun jump or two :o.

Come a week earlier and join us at Lost Prairie!

Ummm, might work. Will you promise to laugh at my jokes?

As long as you say them in a cute accent, sure. :)

When I was growing up, I lived for the summer. My life was all about no school and trips to the lake and spending time on my cousins' farm in Missouri. Even though that's all behind me now, I still get a little excited as summer nears each year, and I still get a little sad when it draws to an end. Yesterday I left the home office about two o'clock and went and floated the San Marcos river with a couple of friends, so I guess summers still have a few things to offer us "adults."
I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.

WTH is that all about? SoCal, you are forgetting that as a JP everybody knows you are a badass knowitall without even having to ask/advertise.

Yeah, Summer. Saturday it will be 130 degrees in the Kingair while we wait on the tarmac for some dumbass to walk his glider off the centerline and then somebody will call a 10 mile final in a Cessna 150.

On the plus side, Clay will claim he's freezing sitting with the door open and the greatest releif will come when I finally get to get my tightly bound heaving sweating humping burning hunk of 230 pound terrorized love out of the dang door. Then it's nothing but fun.

I really do love the sunset staff load. Hanging on a hybrid as the sun sets over mount diablo is splenderiffic.

Staff people, remember to get lots of water as we move into the busy season.

J/K JPSoCal, that's an impressive resume.
