Booked a Honeymoon... bittersweet

Recommended Posts

Skymedic and I are getting married in five weeks. We had picked that date so we could immediately leave for our honeymoon at Rantoul. Then Marc got into the Fire Academy, and class goes through that week. No Rantoul. :(

So...I just booked us a honeymoon in December to Cozumel. I just wanted to go somewhere warm and relaxing. The bittersweet part is that we are going to be gone over Christmas. Things are changing this year for Christmas since my dad just died last Christmas....So...I am excited about the honeymoon and the beach, but a little sad that we are able to do it because my dad is gone....

Bummer, Anne--I know how much you were looking forward to your honeymoon in Rantoul. [:/] But the important thing is that no matter when/where your honeymoon is, you'll be with the love of your life!!! :)
There's a bright future ahead for you, Marc & Lauren. When are you gonna have more little Skymedics and FallinWomen? ;)

See you soon! We gotta book a hotel room today...!

IMO, going to Cozumel for a Honeymoon is a great idea. There you will have more "alone" time then you would have at WFFC.

I can't believe YOU'RE starting on them already. I mean, like - we get that EVERY WEEKEND! What is this, "if you can't beat 'em, join em ?" :P

Anne, your trip to Cozumel sounds fun. I'm kinda jealous, Craichead and I haven't technically had our honneymoon, yet. Every time we go somewhere it's to visit family...

The first time I skipped my family at xmas was a lot easier than I expected. I'd always figured I HAD to go home for xmas, but the first time that I didn't - well, it's not that I was happy to be skipping it, but I just as happy to be doing something different.

One of the joys of getting married is that you get to start your own traditions, ones that some day you'll teach to your kids. That's a cool thing, so don't sell it short.

Haven't you noticed that we don't get the "when are you going to have babies" question as often? That means we get to "pay it forward"! :P:ph34r:
