Rebecca 0 #1 June 29, 2005 I've worn mine for 13 years and just today, I found out my guy's remains were ID'd and returned 10 years ago. I had checked several times over the years, but I guess my sources were very out of date. And all this time I thought he was still unaccounted for. Now that he's home though, the protocol is for me to return my bracelet to the family. Has anyone here done this? How did the family react? Also, do I have to? The name on it represents one man, lost over 30 years ago in the service of our country, but to me the bracelet itself represents all those who are still missing. It's become an important object to me. If it is 'rude' or disrespectful of the soldier or his family to keep it, I will certainly return it, but if not, I think I'd like to keep it... What to do? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

The family sent me back a wonderful letter of gratitude and a set of his wings...since they considered me a part of their 'family'. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

And I do really want to send a letter to at least let them know they weren't the only ones holding Sgt. Rebecca 0 #14 June 29, 2005 I got mine in '92 at what was then Auburn University's annual POW MIA Awareness Week. It was sponsored by the ROTC units and their aux. orgs. We sold bracelets and stickers and handed out info on the concourse while a ROTC cadet sat in a bamboo cage wearing a flightsuit. We also held a candlelight vigil and bread and water dinner and did a flag relay run from Auburn to Montgomery. Then, 'they' told us to stop, and it was reduced to one day of rememberance. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? Thanks to Pat Scannon and his BentProp team. Pat Scannon was invited to attend the repatriation starting in Palau, and to return to HickamAFB, Hawaii, on the Air Force C-17 that carried those remains back to American soil after over 60 years. I know several others who have his bracelet . . . I am contacting them so we can return the bracelets en masse to the family. It was the highlight of my day yesterday! How cool is that!Arrive Safely John
