Somehow I get an uneasy "price gouging" feeling...I dunno Yes, we are not in agreement with the vendor fees as well. Mostly the fact that we have to pay full registration for ourselves and our staff on top of the vendor fee (an additional $280.00). We have discussed this issue with the folks at WFFC. As far as registration goes for the Boogie itself, I honestly would not have a problem paying $70 for 10 DAYS of pure fun ($70 for entertainment and beer is cheap). Like I said above as a paying vendor I DO have a PROBLEM with paying $70 for ourselves and our staff who are working 99.9% of the boogie. Now if I were just coming for a weekend I wouldn’t be happy about paying full registration at all! But from the conventions point of view....how can you manage having different priced registration fees based on length of stay per person? It would be a nightmare to manage and monitor. MikeForsythe 0 #102 July 4, 2005 They need to include free registration fees for the vendors based on size of space. Start with two fees included for a 20'X20' and one additional free registration for each additional 10'. That way it would be proportionally fair. As for the skydivers registration fee, it would help and increase attendance if there were two fees. One for the whole time and day passes for the rest. That way if someone can only come out for a couple of days it would be fairer and would probably attract more people to come.Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is! Different color for everyday, weekend color, all convention color. Check at the beer tent, jump ticket purchase and manifest. Not really a nightmare but definitely a little hassle. I was wondering myself before I saw this thread if I would be going back this year or not. I may give one of the alternate end of summer boogies a go this time. Not really a nightmare but definitely a little hassle. "Check at the beer tent" - not a chance....ever been in the big tent at night ? "Ticket Sales" - Tickets can be purchased in lumps so they could be used through out the week Manifest - Manifest is a good stop to check but most people are jumping with groups and 1 person is usually getting boarding passes "scenario here". When things are running hot, they (manifest) get quite busy (manifesting, air to ground radio, watching timer and so on). Not arguing with you here sweetie but when you are dealing with 1000's of boogie participants "a little hassle turns into a BIG hassle!" The multi colored wrist bands would work fine (with a little hassle) at small - mid boogie. But.......have you ever heard of any other boogies that offer registration fee discounts based on lenght of stay? Have fun all summer and at the BOOGIES <> Tami

Because of the discussion that I had with you, and with a couple of the other vendors we DID change this. Depending on the level of vendor fee, there are free bands from 2 to 6 per vendor. So we're saving you bucks Baby!skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

ChasingBlueSky 0 #109 July 5, 2005 Do people coming in on the last Saturday still have to pay the full registration fee? You could have a weekend only fee - or a couple day fee. How would that work? Pay up front the full cost, but sign an agreement on what day you would leave. If you come back before that time and turn in your wrist band then you get your money back. If you stay then it's all good and the WFFC isn't getting scammed. You could add a two-weekend deal that would be $5-$10 cheaper for missing out on five days. This way you could get people in Chicago (or other local regions) more willing to come just for a couple days. I know that I cannot take a full vacation this year for the convention and paying the full reg fee for a couple jumps and maybe one night on site just isn't worth it. Plus, I have a nearly all the same things at SDC - the only reason I go to the convention anymore is to meet up with friends._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Hey Bo....that is the most workable solution that I have heard yet!!!! That is something other long boogies should consider as well. Lots of planning and administration involved i.e.: (check payments, credit card, cash) regarding refunds but still a good idea that some might consider Brainstorming/Synergy ......I love it. <> Tami
ChasingBlueSky 0 #111 July 5, 2005 The best way to handle this? Cash. If you want the convience of using this system then pay in cash. This resolves many of the logistical issues in regards to reverse charges, canceled checks, etc. The idea is to bring more people in and help drive business by gaining people that would usually opt out of attending due to a small return on a large cost. This will help avoid adding additional work to the staff. Thus added value for both sides. The WFFC should realize the sale potential of this. How many people would plan on staying just two days and end up overstaying and commiting to the full entrance cost. Guess all that sales training and process control is finally kicking in. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... This year we are going to have a one day fee for those who are in your situation. Anything less than a 10 day band really does require TONS of administration (have you ever looked at the huge band boards we have, those security guys have their work cut out!) I had never thought of the reverse procedure that you are recommending, because so many people COLLECT our bands, it never occured to me that anyone would turn it in! But that is an outstanding idea, turn it in for a refund, but only if you have paid cash in the first place. Again, lots of admin, but little question.. Hmmm. too late for this year, but something to definitely think about for next.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
