dzdiva 7 #1 July 5, 2005 After 8 long months I finally made my journey back to the sky.Went up to the DZ on Saturday with intentions of jumping and hanging around for the pig roast we were having. I haven't jumped since October. Saturday was beautiful...they were having 4-way scrambles and I just kind of hung around and watched the fun. Was an awesome day and night hanging out. Got up Sunday and had planned on jumping, but there were some funky clouds hanging around and I let fear get the better of me. I left late in the afternoon to come home. Kind of pissed at myself that I hadn't jumped, but happy that it was a good weekend spent with people I love. Yesterday morning I got up and decided to make the 1 1/2 hr drive to the DZ. I call there when I'm about 10 minutes away and tell them that I need someone to throw me out of a plane as soon as possible. That way I don't have time to think about it. Got there and manifested for first load.....something I have never done. Geared up and ready to go. I want to thank JR, Griff and Doc for giving me grief on the way to altitude. Out the door....I had forgotten how much I love this sport! Sweet canopy ride down. Took my time to enjoy the view. As I flew by on final everyone was cheering. What an awesome feeling. Not the prettiest of landings, but soft. (The working out has helped.) As Kathie came over to give me a hug, there were tears in my eyes. Not sure why I was crying....I just did. Did another 2-way with John....had fun...new exit...the dive kind of went to shit at the end, but that's okay. I actually stood up my landing on that one, something I rarely do! Imagine the look on my face when I realized I was still on my feet! It was a beautiful day with wonderful friends. I am truly blessed. Thanks to everyone at C-burg and thank you Mike for a truly wonderful gift. You gave me the sky and I will be forever in your debt. Sorry such a long post, but wanted to share."It's not just a daydream if you choose to make it your life..."

I really enjoyed reading that, thanks for sharing I find it's so easy to get caught up in the going's on that we sometimes forget to just sit back and enjoy the sport for what it is, an awesome way to look at the earth. blue skies and big smiles PJ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
 dzdiva 7 #4 July 5, 2005 It was truly amazing! One question, Why have you never manifested for the first load? Years ago, I used to love being the human WDI on the first load. It takes a lot to get out the door, sometimes, and I can really appreciate what it took for you to jump. Congratulations! I didn't stand my landings, but realized that had a lot to do with the fact that (I didn't flare) I fully expected to biff my landings and kept expecting and envisioning myself falling on my face. And I did. So, good job on yours!Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic. -Salvador Dali
 Dumpster 0 #17 July 6, 2005 Good on you, Luv! My landings have sucked because I usually only flare half way. I've been working on my upper body strength so that has helped. Thanks for the kind words."It's not just a daydream if you choose to make it your life..."
