Rebecca 0 #1 March 28, 2005 See it!! I saw a sneak preview on Friday - perks of dating a guy whose reps give him free tickets . It's incredible. Wild, brutal, graphic, fast, and mind-blowing. Dames, broads, toughs, thugs, cops, gangsters, monsters, damsels in distress, warrior women - very noir. Black and white with colorized bits, like eyes and blood. (if stylized graphic violence bothers you, maybe don't see it) You feel like you're IN Miller's novel. In fact, it was shot almost frame by frame from the book, with Miller as co-director, so if you're already a fan, no worries, it stays true. We ended up in the second row , so I'm just gonna have to go see it again!!! Just a friendly heads-up! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? RfukfreeflyingW 0 #2 March 28, 2005 was it any thing like a typical Tarantino film, bouncing around like crazy? or was it like a normal movie u know in a linear time line?---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
Rebecca 0 #3 March 28, 2005 Tarantino was a guest director - not sure which segment - Rodriguez and Miller were the main directors. No, it's not linear, and there are overlapping timelines in the stories (there are 3 main plots). It does bounce around, but the flow was great. You might need to think a little while you're watching, but it doesn't hurt. Let's just say that it was nowhere near as confusing as Pulp Fiction was the first time. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? Rebecca 0 #7 March 28, 2005 Yeah, um, this is pretty much the opposite of DWMC. Let's see, sunshine? No. Laughter? No. Fabio? Hell no! Oh wait!! Scantily clad beautiful women? YEP! Seriously guys - there's one female I recall being fully and unprovocatively clothed, and she was gone pretty quickly. The rest - let's just say I almost had to mop my bf's drooly chin. This also has potential to become very quotable. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
Kid_Icarus 0 #8 April 6, 2005 Sin City was BY FAR the MOST FUCKED UP THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. I don' t even think it was good. It was interesting to watch, but i never "Bought it" I know that was kind of the style it wsa shot in, but I mean come on. It was confusing as hell, and a little over the top. Killing kids and preists.... I'll pass. Entertainment value =2 Naked girls =10!!!!It's no Kill Bill or Pulp Fiction. But hey, my favorite move is The Jerk... ________________________________________ "What What.....
kelel01 1 #9 April 6, 2005 I didn't really like it, either. I did like all the naked chicks with guns, though! It was really gross, though. Not as gross as Kill Bill (Vol. 1, specifically), but MUCH nastier than Pulp Fiction. I don't think Pulp Fiction can ever be beaten, though.
Rebecca 0 #10 April 6, 2005 I saw it for the second time and didn't think it was as good as the first. But killing the priest was your objection? I don't get it - he's evil. And hey, The Jerk is an entertainment staple - no shame in that being your fav! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? As for not understanding it: I think the problem was that people tried to understand it as a full story. In fact, the movie is based on FOUR different comic books that all happen to be set in the same city. Sure, there is some overlap, but it is incidental. The movie is basically and "upload" of the graphic novel and as is often the case in such novels, violence abounds. I liked the style and the extreme violence. It was definitely like watching a graphic novel being played out.Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
wingnut 0 #12 April 6, 2005 i saw it last weekend, thought it was okay, not my favorite, not one that i hated, i will give it this though, it is definatly ART.. and should be taken as such...... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
scottbre 0 #13 April 6, 2005 If they do the DVD with as much care and thought as they put into the movie, it could be worth buying just for all the extras. Story aside, this movie is technologically and cinematically beautiful, especially when you realize how cheaply it was made for a movie nowadays. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!"
