nate_1979 9 #1 July 6, 2005 I could *NOT* have chosen a worse time to loose my PC and freebag!!! Mirage put out that they made a new PC that "makes the rig look better" so everybody and there mothers is ordering new PCs and it's SLOWING ME DOWN from getting one just so my rig can be functional again!! So, who has an "ugly" old PC that they wanna ship me overnight so that I can jump this weekend???? Damnit! FGF #??? I miss the sky... Anvilbrother 0 #17 July 6, 2005 I had the goggle thing happen to me this weekend. I always wondered if you could see in freefall with out any eye protection. It hurts a little, and you blink alot, but it can be done. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. I am really getting a kick about this thread, quite funny. But I feel the urge to inquire? You know someone is going to ask, so it might as well be me, hybrid with less than 100 jumps? 4 mals, 2 chops? I wonder if there is a pattern here? of some strange sort. Not trying to be an ass and I hope you get the p/c, main freebag or the right stuff in time1300 jumps Zero cut aways (3 intentional) something to think about??? Ok, Hybrid w/ less than 100 jumps was done in the high 80s for the first time.. Unlike most people I know who have started freeflying on jump 20-30 I have stayed on my belly, working on RW type stuff the whole time.. I was a belly flier for a hybrid... Not to sound arrogent, but I'm probably a better belly flier than a good chunk of people out there with more jumps than me because I decided that belly skills were important to learn, and I decided that I will learn them before I start freeflying.. I have also gotten to do some really cool RW jumps where high number jumpers have said that I'm doing very well for my jump #'s in the RW scene. The hybrid was a part of a friends 100th jump. My brake mal was on AFF 3... Like an idiot, I landed it, and almost caused myself great harm in doing so, i'm lucky to still be in the sport. That should have been chop #1 My Second mal was a line over, packed by a packer at the DZ i was jumping at. I chopped it. My 3rd mal was also a line over, I had just recently started packing my own gear after the first line over. The last one was a stepthrough, not sure how the heck I got that in there, but you can bet I will be paying more attentiion to avoiding such occurances. Please dont take this as "I know what I'm doing", because I dont I always want to hear what others have to say, it's just hard for me to understand why someone would comment to me about doing a hybrid at jump 80 something when people I know are trying head down at 30. I felt comfortable with my position in the said jump, all I had to do was hold a 2 way belly as someone else was hanging from us FGF #??? I miss the sky... A hybrid IS NOT just another skydive. Yes, you were on your belly where you feel comfortable. However i am sure you were flying at a much higher speed than normal belly jumps and you also had someone else hanging from you. Those facts add many links in the chain of events. Please just think about it. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
