Cost of beginner gear

I have about 40 jumps since getting back in the sport and was just wondering about what I should expect to pay for a complete used system? (no AAD)

I bought out someone who was getting out of the sport and spent about 2500 for a rig, Jumpsuit, altimeter, AAD (just needed a 4 year check), helmet.

Having about 40 jumps I bought second-hand European system (Omega Cont + Cayenne 170 semi elip + Cyp1 8year + Smart 175) and all in very good condition, 2 years old for €3300+250 for Cypres service. This gave me WL about 1.05.
After about 75 jumps on the canopy and 200 on the container I sold the rig, but my 150 was slightly too small for the container.
The conclusion is that: I don't think it was mistake but as the first rig I should spend not more than 2500. Unless you buy a very good rig with possibility to downsize one or two main sizes down -> spend a fortune or/and get a very good deal. In my opinion after first initial 100 jumps I was able to look around more consciously for the gear.
