Anvilbrother 0 #1 July 8, 2005 I just got finished watching top gun on my labtop. I found something funny around 1:31:30 seconds. When they are in the real dogfight after he graduates top gun school. One of the tomcats gets hit, and the guy ejects, the next scene you see a person in free fall throwing out a hand deployed p/c! what happened did they run low on money and could not use an ejection seat? I tried to take a screen shot off the divx player and put it into paint, but once I saved it it went black. Ooh well if you own the movie check it out. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Anvilbrother 0 #5 July 8, 2005 It was wierd, he said I have to eject, then it flashes back to a dog fight then you see someone in freefall throwing out. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. tso-d_chris 0 #6 July 8, 2005 I bunch of mistakes and errors in that movie: In the first training dogfight at Mirimar, Jester never actually called "No Joy." When the airboss gets a tray spilled on his shirt outside Viper's office, the top side of the tray clearly says Pepsi. Kelly McGillis has reddish hair in the elevator scene and the "sex" scene (they were filmed later). The wine bottle spins before wine is poured at the dinner date scene. Did you know the original instructor at the real TOPGUN is Charlies older date at the bar?

Shark 0 #8 July 8, 2005 QuoteDid you know the original instructor at the real TOPGUN is Charlie's older date at the bar? Did you know that he is the original Viper and a Mig Killer in Nam? Did you know that the bar scene serenade was not filmed at the "O" club, but filmed at a club called "The Roxy?" Did you know the inspiration for the movie was taken from Duke Cunningham's career? Yep, same Duke, congressman from California. Dude, it's Hollywood! I know several of the pilots. They had some good laughs and a lot of fun.

It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
BlindBrick 0 #13 July 8, 2005 QuoteWhen the airboss gets a tray spilled on his shirt outside Viper's office, the top side of the tray clearly says Pepsi. Not a mistake. Top Gun was one of the first generation of the "product placement" movies. That was totally intentional. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." panzwami 0 #14 July 8, 2005 yeah, I've got the original VHS tape of the movie, and there's a Diet Pepsi commercial at the very beginning, before the previews. It's a pretty cool commercial, where the guy has to flip his fighter to pour a soda.
Anvilbrother 0 #15 July 8, 2005 I was telling a buddy about that commercial, and he swore to me it happened in the movie, not a commercial before the movie. We almost got into a friendly argument I kept telling him NO. on the VHS copy there was a commercial where he has to turn over to get the drink to come out. In the movie he turns over and give the mig the bird. He still does not beilieve me Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. kbordson 8 #16 July 8, 2005 I don't know what all ya'll are babbling about..... the only thing in Top Gun was the VOLLEYBALL scene. What's this about jets and freefall and product placement?

Shark 0 #20 July 8, 2005 Looks cool, but also looks "NOLO." Seen the FA18 fly and IIRC it costs $400k?! I may be off by a zero or two.
panzwami 0 #21 July 9, 2005 No, it's definitely the commercial beforehand. The F-14s in the movie were the older models, without the in-cockpit refreshment systems.
