James.UWE 0 #1 October 20, 2008 Hi Im looking at getting a tracking suit. These 2 are pretty much the same price and have caught my eye. I tried the phoenix fly pants / jacket at the weekend and really liked it, but obviously have nothing to compare it too! Does anyone have experience with them both who may be ble to share some info with me? Any other suggestions apart from these two? There doesnt seem to be much on here about the impact. Thanks James
jakee 1,596 #2 October 20, 2008 Phoenix-Fly. There was a guy out in Kjerag when I was there who was jumping an Impact and getting no distance with it (which was aparently the trend for Impact users all year), until he clipped the leg wing thingy in. That made his track a bit better, until 15 seconds into the jump when the connectors blew out!Do you want to have an ideagasm?

JohnRich 4 #4 October 20, 2008 I don't think that "Impact" is a very good name for a piece of skydiving equipment...

They're considering changing it to the "Crater"._____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?

TheCaptain 2 #7 October 20, 2008 I think it is safe to say one company is more interested in fashion and the other company is more interested in performanceKirk He's dead Jim
hjumper33 0 #8 October 20, 2008 Agreed. I started flying on birdman wingsuits and had their "pantz". Phoenix fly blows them out of the water in virtually all levels of performance, except for form fitting euro-jeans.
TheCaptain 2 #9 October 20, 2008 IMHO, the performance left birdman when Robi left and started Phoenix fly. I have been really hoping birdman would be innovative and take this to a higher level but atleast we have tonysuit and phoenix fly now.Kirk He's dead Jim

James.UWE 0 #14 October 22, 2008 Thanks to the guys who've replied with some info for me. I think i'm going to have a go with the impact, mainly because a fairly well priced 2nd hand one has come up. I did like the phoenix fly suit when i tried it (but again don't really know much about these things and had nothing to compare it with), but at over £300 ($500ish?) i think its worth trying the impact, and then selling it if it's no good. I did also look at the matter tracer, but there seems to be a lot of negative info on here. I don't think id be allowed to jump one of them in the UK either, as it does look a lot more like a wingsuit (500 jump / 250 in 18 months requirement).
