DISCOVERY CHANNEL (Its over now)...

Skydiver is found dead in middle of suburbia. Reserve deployed, minor injuries (inconsistant with a high speed impact death). A small arsonal of weaponry. Ohh and like 70lbs of uncut funfun powder. They also found a second rig stashed (accomplice) behind a hanger. They also find MANY other bags stuffed with *sniff sniff*. Good times.

There are a few well-known skydivers who used to smuggle drugs. I jumped with one around '91-'92 who got busted for using a King Air to run coke.

There was a bust about a year ago involving a skydiver using a King Air to smuggle drugs from Mexico to a DZ in the northern US. From what I understand the DZOs and such didn't know about it and weren't apart of it, but some local jumpers were.

So I guess my point is that it still goes on and still involves skydivers, just like other drug traffic involves many other people in many other hobbies and professions. Skydiving isn't special except for aircraft availability, I would believe.

If you are talking about what I think you are talking about, the only "local jumpers" involved were the two on the plane. I realize you are trying to be vague, but its easy enough to connect the dots and that kind of rumor mongering really is not called for.
