Have you seen a shuttle launch ?

Recommended Posts

My SO actually has a ticket to the shuttle launch. She did an intern for NASA a two summers ago and has kept close ties with them, which has paid off. She is really excited about it. I'll post some of her pictures when she gets them. She just hopes it launches Wednesday or Thursday because she isn't going to stick around for the Saturday and Tuesday windows.

MY dad worked in the space program, so I've been watching rockets all my life. When I saw the first one go up back in 81 I was overwhelmed. It is awesome!!Not like the saturn launcher at all. Gotta love those saturns, but STS has a certain sound and look that nothing else comes close to.

I'd highly recommend seeing it. Take your rig and make some jumps at Skydive Space Center which is right there. Also go through the visitors center at the Space Center, very cool stuff.

Those are some brave people to sit on top of that thing.

I've never seen lift-off in person, but I still always run outside to see it in the air. It's the coolest part about living in FL! It's always quite a surprise to hear the sonic boom when they come back too, it rattles the windows!

I have a brother in law that is an Astronaut and he has been up 5 or 6 times. It is way cool being family when they launch. I have been able to watch him launch twice and each time its a rush. Hopefully you will be able to see if happen soon.
Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.
