Probably about an hour each. I've done books on CD for long trips and it's a great way to pass the time! A "normal" length book is usually 8 or 9 CDs, so 18 for the Harry Potter sounds about right.

When I when to Yellowstone Natn'l Park last year I had Shawn Hennety (sp?) and a bunch of other politico commentary CDs.

Needless to say, they were my 70 year old father's... and I had to listen to them all the way from SAN ANTONIO TX to the fu--in NW corner of Wyoming.
