QuoteDave, Jeannie.....nothing I would like better than LP this year...but.....making a long story short....Im retiring from UNLV.....sold my home in Vegas.....having a new one built in Utah......so as much as I want to hang.....its just not in the cards this year.
Retirement is looking pretty good so at least after I get the move all completed my time will be my own.
And......I do know MAd John and would love to jump with him again.
I didn't read anything in that reply that precluded your attendance at LP. In fact, you're moving closer to the Prairie! Oh well, if you can't make this one, how's Moab look for the end of September?

Did the article say why they want to or how they plan to go about it?

QuoteMad John, your organized dives are NEVER boring..
maybe a little tooo exciting sometimes.. but never BORING
Ain't that the truth. Hey MJ ... think it's time for the Choir to resurrect "They Did a 4 Way" ...

Hum along everyone ...
Reserves, I've rode a few
But then again, I pulled my handle
Mad John, the lazy fool
He uses Cypres, to end his freefall
He's planned each dirt dive out
Each careful point along the Prairie
But at two thousand feet
He's planned a four way

I obviously wasn't on that 4-way (my best that day was a 4-point 2-way), but I remember identifying each of the points from the ground. Given that I don't think I'd done a 7-point 4-way from full altitude yet, I thought it was pretty awesome.

Huh
Huh
Huh
Well are we
Huh
Huh

1) it was a 7 point 4-way that started at 4.5k
2) my @#$%$^ Cypres fired after I'd opened my main, above 1200 feet, AGAIN ( they say it can't happen, don't believe it)
3) it's really all Lutz's and vonNovak's fault, Lutz for almost falling off the plane on exit, waisting valuable time, and Billvon for coming back to the center for the 7th point after he'd said he would be out of there at 2.5, and I sure couldn't let him be there by himself.
4) yes Lutz and I should have turned our Cypres' off but I had just gotten in at 4am after a 7 hour road trip from Spokane with Pete Hill & John Culler (highway closed to to accident, had to detour hours and much beer later)
5) the whole thing was best described by Tony Ross, who, walking out of the bar, looked up and said " 4-way, hey these guys are good, they're really good, they're really low" Pop,pop.
History class adjourned.

we won't mention the "Take No Prisoners " Demo at McGregor Lake.
I've missed the Outlaws at the Lodi Boogies the past couple of years. Still wear my shirt proudly at LP every year.

that kind of reminds me of the things that were said in front of the hangar a couple of weeks back..
"These guys are crazy, they're really crazy, they're REALLY LOW..."

QuoteDon't you just love artistic license? and although I was honored by the performance at Crack Night I think the record should be set straight for all the newbee's coming this year:

Artistic license my ass ... just blame it on Dr. Hill ... it's always his fault ...

CYA soon my dear!
