SkyFest Needs Women

Recommended Posts

Ladies -

SkyFest 2005 is in just a few weeks and we need women! As part of SkyFest's fund raising efforts, we do 19way TeXXas star formations, with a raffled 20th slot for some lucky guy.

All the participants, should the dive be successful, will earn their Pink Patch for their first all female 20way (including the guy). The skydives are pretty fun, like an SCR sort of, and raise a lot of money for the Jerry Scrimsher Skydiver Scholarship Fund.

Blue skies and hope to see you there!

Well, if you come out this weekend you can get current. Yeah, that's it. 30 training jumps this weekend (that's only 10 a day), and then another 20 next weekend should just about do it :)

I'd love to help but I am afraid I would just screw it
up with that many people in the sky.[ Don't underestimate your flying abilities Kim]

If any of you ladies are concerned about your skills, which my gut tells me you are better than what you think, you are very welcome to come and play on some of the SCR's and we can get your confidence level up. Then we can go from there.

I only say this because I considered my self to be an expert "inexperienced" jumper for 15 years. I made 10 jumps a year for about 15 years. Which left me with low confidence when I really returned. Then someone said to me after a kick ass 4 way " J you know how to fly your body, just believe it" from that point forward it all came together. I was on the Texas state record 8 months later which was a 124 way.

Come play with us on the SCR's and watch what happens.

While this event is about the growth of the upcoming jumpers, Safety is our main concern.

well hell firefly... I'm an AFF instructor so we could do your recurrency on the first jump :^) j/k You were at San Marcos last year when I got my rating.

Go make a couple of jumps this weekend and blow some of the dust off. Then come on out to the boogie and fly your ass off!

I'd just like to tack a rider on to what J said... At Skyfest a couple of years ago, there were 20 women, most of whom had less than 300 jumps. Most had the same thoughts and concerns that you express. They did a great job. Be painfully honest about your abilities with the Load Organizers, so they can best set the formation for success. IMO - being good in the base of a formation is just as important as chasing and docking on the base. No big-way records would exist, if not for a good solid base. Go for it.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Hi Kim!

Get your flame throwing little ass back in the air and then get it down here to SkyFest! We still need a bunch of girls to get this thing flying.

I really want this to go because even I don't have a PINK PATCH yet. And I really, really want one! I got my black TeXXas 20 way patch around 8 years ago.

Just remember, the first three letters in FUNNEL are FUN!!

I usually get into SCR's but not always

Sometimes that's a reflection on the other jumpers in the SCR rather than the individual flier...

Not to hijack this thread, but I just wanted to let people out at SkyFest know, that Wendy will have JFTC calendars for sell out there. Better get them early, cause they will go fast.

Now back to your thread;)

See, I'm not allowed to sell them on dropzone.com (the no advertising thing). But I can let Mary pimp them out for me :)
Thanks Mary

You are so welcome. In fact, I'm heading over to Events to post in the thread there about you having them at SkyFest;)

We'll work with you on the SCRs to have you ready for the Pink Patch. :)

I even have a belly suit with booties that I don't wear too much so I will get to break that out.

The only thing that freakks me out a little is being in the sky with that many people but I can track like hell!!!!!
